15 and if you reject My statutes and if your soul abhors My ordinances, so that you do not keep all My mitzvot, but instead break My covenant, 16 then I will do the following to you in return. I will appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever that will dim the eyes and cause the soul to pine away. You will sow your seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it. 17 I will set My face against you and you will be routed before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one pursues you.

15 and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws(A) and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant,(B) 16 then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever(C) that will destroy your sight and sap your strength.(D) You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.(E) 17 I will set my face(F) against you so that you will be defeated(G) by your enemies;(H) those who hate you will rule over you,(I) and you will flee even when no one is pursuing you.(J)
