Reject His Statutes and He Will Strike You

¹⁴ ‘^(A)But if you do not obey Me and do not do all these commandments,

¹⁶ I, in turn, will do this to you: I will appoint over you a ^(A)sudden terror, consumption and fever that will waste away the eyes and cause the ^(B)soul to pine away; also, ^(C)you will sow your seed uselessly, for your enemies will eat it up.

²⁸ and the ^(A)curse, if you do not listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, but turn aside from the way which I am commanding you today, by walking after other gods which you have not known.

³ Then he said to me, “This is the ^(A)curse that is going forth over the face of the whole ^[a]land; surely everyone who ^(B)steals will be ^[b]purged away according to ^[c]the writing on one side, and everyone who ^(C)swears will be ^[d]purged away according to the writing on the other side. ⁴ I will ^(D)make it go forth,” declares Yahweh of hosts, “and it will ^(E)enter the house of the ^(F)thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night within that house and ^(G)consume it with its timber and stones.”

² If you do ^(A)not listen, and if you do not set it upon your heart to give ^[a]honor to My name,” says Yahweh of hosts, “then I will send the ^(B)curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have ^(C)cursed them already because you are not setting it upon your heart.
