21 The Lord said to Moses: Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them:
No one shall defile himself for a dead person among his relatives, 2 except for his nearest kin: his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, his brother; 3 likewise, for a virgin sister, close to him because she has had no husband, he may defile himself for her. 4 But he shall not defile himself as a husband among his people and so profane himself. 5 They shall not make bald spots upon their heads, or shave off the edges of their beards, or make any gashes in their flesh. 6 They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God; for they offer the Lord’s offerings by fire, the food of their God; therefore they shall be holy. 7 They shall not marry a prostitute or a woman who has been defiled; neither shall they marry a woman divorced from her husband. For they are holy to their God, 8 and you shall treat them as holy, since they offer the food of your God; they shall be holy to you, for I the Lord, I who sanctify you, am holy. 9 When the daughter of a priest profanes herself through prostitution, she profanes her father; she shall be burned to death.
10 The priest who is exalted above his fellows, on whose head the anointing oil has been poured and who has been consecrated to wear the vestments, shall not dishevel his hair, nor tear his vestments. 11 He shall not go where there is a dead body; he shall not defile himself even for his father or mother. 12 He shall not go outside the sanctuary and thus profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the Lord. 13 He shall marry only a woman who is a virgin. 14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or a woman who has been defiled, a prostitute, these he shall not marry. He shall marry a virgin of his own kin, 15 that he may not profane his offspring among his kin; for I am the Lord; I sanctify him.
16 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 17 Speak to Aaron and say: No one of your offspring throughout their generations who has a blemish may approach to offer the food of his God. 18 For no one who has a blemish shall draw near, one who is blind or lame, or one who has a mutilated face or a limb too long, 19 or one who has a broken foot or a broken hand, 20 or a hunchback, or a dwarf, or a man with a blemish in his eyes or an itching disease or scabs or crushed testicles. 21 No descendant of Aaron the priest who has a blemish shall come near to offer the Lord’s offerings by fire; since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the food of his God. 22 He may eat the food of his God, of the most holy as well as of the holy. 23 But he shall not come near the curtain or approach the altar, because he has a blemish, that he may not profane my sanctuaries; for I am the Lord; I sanctify them. 24 Thus Moses spoke to Aaron and to his sons and to all the people of Israel.

5 I sacerdoti non si faranno tonsure sul capo, non si raderanno i lati della barba e non si faranno incisioni nella carne. 6 Saranno santi per il loro Dio e non profaneranno il nome del loro Dio, poiché offrono al Signore i sacrifici consumati dal fuoco, il pane del loro Dio; perciò saranno santi.
7 Non sposeranno una prostituta, né una donna disonorata; non sposeranno una donna ripudiata da suo marito, perché sono santi per il loro Dio. 8 Tu considererai dunque il sacerdote come santo, perché egli offre il pane del tuo Dio: egli ti sarà santo, poiché io, il Signore, che vi santifico, sono santo.

Io sono il Signore.
13 Sposerà una vergine. 14 Non sposerà né una vedova, né una divorziata, né una disonorata, né una prostituta; ma prenderà per moglie una vergine del suo popolo. 15 Non disonorerà la sua discendenza in mezzo al suo popolo; poiché io sono il Signore che lo santifico”».
16 (C)Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè: 17 «Parla ad Aaronne e digli: “Nelle generazioni future nessuno dei tuoi discendenti che abbia qualche deformità si avvicinerà per offrire il pane del suo Dio; 18 perché nessun uomo che abbia qualche deformità potrà accostarsi: né il cieco, né lo zoppo, né chi ha una deformità per difetto o per eccesso, 19 o una frattura al piede o alla mano, 20 né il gobbo, né il nano, né chi ha un difetto nell’occhio, o ha la rogna o la scabbia, o i testicoli ammaccati. 21 Nessun uomo tra i discendenti del sacerdote Aaronne, che abbia qualche deformità, si avvicinerà per offrire i sacrifici consumati dal fuoco per il Signore. Ha un difetto: non si avvicini quindi per offrire il pane del suo Dio. 22 Egli potrà mangiare il pane del suo Dio, le cose santissime e le cose sante; 23 ma non si avvicinerà alla cortina e non si avvicinerà all’altare, perché ha una deformità. 2 außer wegen seines nächsten Blutsverwandten, der ihm zugehört; wegen seiner Mutter, wegen seines Vaters, seines Sohnes, seiner Tochter, wegen seines Bruders
3 und wegen seiner Schwester, die noch eine Jungfrau ist, die ihm nahesteht, weil sie noch keines Mannes Frau gewesen ist, ihretwegen darf er sich verunreinigen.
4 Als ein Hochgestellter[b] unter seinem Volk soll er sich nicht verunreinigen, damit er sich nicht entweiht.
5 Sie sollen sich keine Glatze scheren auf ihrem Haupt, noch den Rand ihres Bartes stutzen, noch an ihrem Fleisch Einschnitte machen.
6 Sie sollen ihrem Gott heilig sein und den Namen ihres Gottes nicht entweihen; denn sie opfern die Feueropfer des Herrn, das Brot ihres Gottes, und sie sollen heilig sein.
7 Sie sollen keine Hure oder Entehrte zur Frau nehmen, noch eine von ihrem Mann Verstoßene; denn [der Priester] ist seinem Gott heilig.
8 Du sollst ihn für heilig achten, denn er bringt das Brot deines Gottes dar. Er soll dir heilig sein; denn ich bin heilig, der Herr, der euch heiligt.
9 Und wenn die Tochter eines Priesters sich durch Unzucht entweiht, so entweiht sie ihren Vater; sie soll mit Feuer verbrannt werden!
10 Derjenige aber, der Hoherpriester ist unter seinen Brüdern, auf dessen Haupt das Salböl gegossen wurde und dem man die Hand gefüllt hat, damit er die [heiligen] Kleider anziehe, der soll sein Haupthaar nicht wirr hängen lassen und seine Kleider nicht zerreißen.[c]
11 Er soll auch zu keinem Toten kommen; [auch] um seines Vaters und seiner Mutter willen soll er sich nicht verunreinigen.
12 Er soll aus dem Heiligtum nicht hinausgehen noch das Heiligtum seines Gottes entweihen; denn die Weihe des Salböls seines Gottes ist auf ihm; ich bin der Herr.
13 Er soll eine Jungfrau zur Frau nehmen;
14 eine Witwe oder eine Verstoßene oder eine Entehrte oder eine Hure soll er nicht nehmen; sondern eine Jungfrau aus seinem Volk soll er zur Frau nehmen,
15 damit er seinen Samen nicht entweiht unter seinem Volk; denn ich, der Herr, heilige ihn.
16 Und der Herr redete zu Mose und sprach:
17 Rede zu Aaron und sprich: Sollte jemand von deinen Nachkommen in ihren [künftigen] Geschlechtern mit irgendeinem Gebrechen behaftet sein, so darf er nicht herzunahen, um das Brot seines Gottes darzubringen.
18 Nein, keiner, an dem ein Gebrechen ist, soll herzunahen, er sei blind oder lahm oder habe eine gespaltene Nase oder ein Glied, das zu lang ist;
19 auch keiner, der einen gebrochenen Fuß oder eine gebrochene Hand hat,
20 auch kein Buckliger oder Zwerg oder einer, der einen Fleck auf seinem Auge hat oder die Krätze oder Flechten oder zerdrückte Hoden.
21 Wer nun von dem Samen Aarons, des Priesters, ein Gebrechen an sich hat, der soll nicht herzunahen, um die Feueropfer des Herrn darzubringen; er hat ein Gebrechen; darum soll er nicht herzutreten, um das Brot seines Gottes darzubringen.
22 Doch darf er das Brot seines Gottes essen, vom Hochheiligen und vom Heiligen.
23 Aber zum Vorhang soll er nicht kommen, noch sich dem Altar nahen, weil er ein Gebrechen hat, damit er mein Heiligtum[d] nicht entweiht; denn ich, der Herr, heilige sie.

21 Így szólt az Örökkévaló Mózeshez: „Add tudtára a papoknak, Áron fiainak a következő törvényeket. A pap a közelébe se ne menjen a halottnak, hogy tisztátalanná ne legyen! 2 Ez alól kivételt jelent, ha közeli hozzátartozója hunyt el: anyja, apja, fia, leánya, fiútestvére, 3 hajadon leánytestvére. Ez utóbbi is közeli hozzátartozónak számít, mert nem ment férjhez. Az ilyen közeli hozzátartozók esetében a pap részt vehet a temetéssel kapcsolatos családi eseményekben. 4 Viszont ha az elhunyt személy a papnak csak a házassága révén rokona, akkor a pap maradjon távol a gyásztól és temetéstől, hogy ne legyen tisztátalanná.
5 A pap ne nyírja kopaszra a fejét, még részlegesen se, ne nyírja le a szakállát, vagy annak a végét, se ne vágjon sebeket a testén a gyász kifejezéséül.
6 A papok maradjanak Istenük számára szentek, és ne hozzanak gyalázatot Istenük nevére, mert a papok mutatják be az áldozatokat és a kenyereket az Örökkévalónak — ezért szentek legyenek!
7 A pap az Örökkévalónak van szentelve, ezért nem vehet feleségül olyan nőt, aki előzőleg már szexuális kapcsolatban volt más férfival. Tehát elvált vagy parázna nőt, vagy olyat, akit megerőszakoltak, nem vehet feleségül. 8 A nép szentnek tekintse a papot, mert ő mutatja be Istennek a szent kenyereket. Én, az Örökkévaló, szent vagyok. Én vagyok, aki megszentel. Ezért a papot is tekintsétek szenteknek.
9 Ha egy pap leánya prostituálttá lesz, gyalázatot hoz magára és az apjára is, ezért az a leány halállal lakoljon: meg kell égetni.
10-11 A főpapra, akinek fejére a felszentelésekor a szent olajat öntötték, s aki a főpapi öltözetet viseli, a következő törvények vonatkoznak. A közelébe se menjen a halottnak, hogy tisztátalanná ne legyen! Ne vegyen részt még a saját családja gyászában se: ne hagyja gondozatlanul a haját, ne szaggassa meg a ruháit, még akkor se, ha apja vagy anyja hunyt el. 12 Akkor se hagyja el a szent hely területét, ha közeli hozzátartozója hal meg, mert ezzel tisztátalanná válhat, és akkor a szent helyet is tisztátalanná tenné. Maradjon szent és rituálisan tiszta, hiszen amikor főpappá szentelték, Istenének szent olaját öntötték a fejére! Én vagyok az Örökkévaló!
13 A főpap csak hajadon és szűz leányt vehet feleségül. 14 Nem szabad feleségül vennie sem özvegyet, sem elváltat, sem olyat, aki parázna vagy akit megerőszakoltak. Csak saját népe közül való hajadon és szűz leányt vehet feleségül, 15 hogy a leszármazottjai is szentek legyenek a nép között. Én vagyok az Örökkévaló, aki a főpapot megszenteltem.”
16 Azután ezt mondta Mózesnek az Örökkévaló: 17 „Szólj Áronnak, hogy ha a leszármazottjai közül valaki testileg fogyatékos, az nem viheti az Örökkévaló elé a szent kenyereket. Ez nemzedékről nemzedékre érvényes törvény. 18 Testi fogyatékos személy nem végezhet papi szolgálatot az Örökkévaló oltáránál. Tehát ha valaki vak, sánta, az arca deformálódott, 19 keze vagy lába eltörött, 20 háta púpos, aki törpe növésű, akinek szeme vagy látása nem egészséges, akinek rosszindulatú bőrbetegsége van, vagy a bőrén fekély van, vagy a heréi nem épek, az nem végezhet papi szolgálatot.
21 Akinek Áron leszármazottjai közül akinek ilyen testi fogyatékossága van, az nem járulhat az oltárhoz, hogy áldozatot mutasson be az Örökkévalónak. 21 L’Eternel dit à Moïse : Parle aux prêtres, fils d’Aaron, et dis-leur : Un prêtre ne doit pas se rendre rituellement impur en touchant le corps d’une personne de son peuple qui vient de mourir, 2 excepté s’il s’agit d’un proche parent : sa mère, son père, son fils, sa fille, son frère 3 ou sa sœur si elle n’est pas mariée – pour une jeune fille de sa proche parenté qui n’est pas mariée, il peut se rendre impur. 4 Chef parmi son peuple, il ne se rendra pas impur[a], car il se profanerait[b].
5 Les prêtres ne se tonsureront pas, ils ne se raseront pas les coins de la barbe, ni se feront d’incisions sur leur corps[c]. 6 Ils seront saints pour leur Dieu et ne déshonoreront pas leur Dieu, car ce sont eux qui offrent à l’Eternel les aliments de leur Dieu consumés par le feu. C’est pourquoi ils seront saints.
7 Ils n’épouseront pas une femme prostituée ou déshonorée ou répudiée par son mari, car le prêtre est saint pour son Dieu. 8 Tu le considéreras comme saint, car c’est lui qui offre l’aliment de ton Dieu, et il sera pour toi quelqu’un de saint, car je suis saint, moi, l’Eternel, qui vous rends saints.
9 Si une fille de prêtre se déshonore en s’adonnant à la prostitution, elle profane son père, elle périra par le feu.
10 Le prêtre qui a la prééminence sur les autres prêtres, sur la tête duquel a été répandue l’huile d’onction et qui a reçu sa charge pour porter les vêtements sacrés, ne se décoiffera pas la tête et ne déchirera pas ses vêtements[d]. 11 Il ne s’approchera d’aucun corps mort ; il ne se rendra même pas impur, pour son père ou sa mère. 12 Il ne quittera pas le sanctuaire pour ne pas profaner le sanctuaire de son Dieu, car il a été consacré par l’huile d’onction de son Dieu. 13 Il prendra pour femme une jeune fille. 14 Il n’épousera ni une veuve ni une femme répudiée, déshonorée ou prostituée ; c’est une jeune fille de son peuple qu’il épousera. 15 Il ne profanera pas sa descendance au milieu de son peuple, car moi, l’Eternel, je le rends saint.
16 Puis l’Eternel s’adressa à Moïse en ces termes : 17 Parle à Aaron et dis-lui : Aucun homme parmi tes descendants, dans toutes les générations, qui serait atteint d’une malformation corporelle ne s’approchera pour offrir l’aliment de son Dieu. 18 Sont exclus du service tous ceux qui ont une infirmité : quelqu’un qui est aveugle ou boiteux, qui est défiguré ou qui a des membres disproportionnés, 19 qui est estropié de la jambe ou du bras, 20 bossu ou nain, affligé d’une taie sur l’œil, qui a la gale, des plaies purulentes ou les testicules écrasés. 21 Aucun descendant du prêtre Aaron ayant une malformation n’offrira à l’Eternel les sacrifices consumés par le feu ; du moment qu’il a une malformation en lui, il ne s’approchera pas pour offrir les aliments de son Dieu. 22 Il pourra consommer l’aliment de son Dieu, les offrandes saintes et très saintes, 23 mais il ne s’avancera pas jusqu’au voile[e] et ne s’approchera pas de l’autel, à cause de sa malformation ; ainsi il ne profanera pas mes lieux saints[f], car moi, l’Eternel, je les rends saints.
24 Moïse transmit ces paroles à Aaron, à ses fils et à tous les Israélites.
