¹⁶You are not to have sexual intercourse with your brother’s wife; it will shame your brother.^(A)

Leviticus 18:16

New International Version

¹⁶“‘Do not have sexual relations with your brother’s wife;^(A) that would dishonor your brother.

¹⁶Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness.

²¹If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is impurity.^(A) He has shamed his brother;^(B) they will be childless.

²¹“‘If a man marries his brother’s wife,^(A) it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless.^(B)

²¹And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.
