^15 (A)And when any person eats an animal which dies or is torn by beasts, whether he is a native or a sojourner, he shall wash his clothes and bathe in water and remain unclean until evening; then he will become clean.

⁸ He shall not eat ^(A)an animal which dies or is torn by beasts, becoming unclean by it; I am Yahweh.

¹⁴ But I said, “^(A)Ah, Lord Yahweh! Behold, I have ^(B)never been defiled; for from my youth until now I have never eaten what ^(C)died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has any ^(D)offensive meat ever entered my mouth.”

³¹ The priests shall not eat any bird or beast that has ^(A)died of itself or has been torn to pieces.
