¹⁷ “Why ^(A)did you not eat the sin offering at the holy place? For it is most holy, and ^[a]He gave it to you to bear away ^(B)the guilt of the congregation, to make atonement for them before Yahweh.

²² And the goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to an isolated land; and he shall send out the goat in the wilderness.

Responsibilities of the Levites

18 So Yahweh said to Aaron, “You and your sons and your father’s household with you shall ^(A)bear the guilt ^[a]in connection with the sanctuary, and you and your sons with you shall bear the guilt ^[b]in connection with your priesthood.
