1 Domnul l-a chemat pe Moise şi a vorbit cu el din Cortul Întâlnirii, poruncindu-i 2 să li se adreseze israeliţilor şi să le spună astfel: „Când vreunul dintre voi aduce Domnului un dar, să-l aducă din turmele de oi sau din cirezile de vite.
3 Dacă darul lui va fi o ardere de tot din cireadă, atunci să aducă un mascul fără meteahnă; să-l aducă la intrarea în Cortul Întâlnirii ca să fie plăcut[a] înaintea Domnului. 4 Să-şi pună mâna pe capul viţelului adus ca ardere de tot şi acesta va fi primit în locul lui ca ispăşire pentru el. 5 Viţelul să fie înjunghiat înaintea Domnului şi fiii lui Aaron, preoţii, să aducă sângele şi să-l stropească de jur împrejurul altarului de la intrarea în Cortul Întâlnirii. 6 Arderea de tot să fie jupuită şi tăiată în bucăţi. 7 Fiii preotului Aaron vor trebui să facă foc pe altar şi să pună lemne în foc. 8 Apoi preoţii, fiii lui Aaron, să aşeze bucăţile, capul şi grăsimea pe lemnele puse pe focul de pe altar, 9 iar măruntaiele şi picioarele să le spele cu apă. Şi preotul să le ardă pe altar ca o ardere de tot, o jertfă mistuită de foc de o aromă plăcută Domnului.
10 Dacă darul lui pentru arderea de tot este din turmă, din oi sau din capre, atunci să fie un mascul fără meteahnă. 11 Să-l înjunghie în partea de nord a altarului, înaintea Domnului şi fiii lui Aaron, preoţii, să-i stropească sângele pe altar, de jur împrejur. 12 Preotul să-l taie în bucăţi, după care să aşeze bucăţile împreună cu capul şi grăsimea pe lemnele puse pe focul de pe altar, 13 iar măruntaiele şi picioarele să le spele cu apă. Apoi preotul să le aducă pe toate şi să le ardă pe altar; aceasta este o ardere de tot, o jertfă mistuită de foc de o aromă plăcută Domnului.
14 Dacă darul adus Domnului este o ardere de tot din păsări, să-l aducă din turturele sau din pui de porumbei. 15 Preotul să aducă pasărea lângă altar, să-i rupă capul şi s-o ardă pe altar; va trebui ca sângele să i se scurgă pe o parte a altarului. 16 Apoi să-i scoată guşa cu ce are în ea[b] şi s-o arunce lângă altar, pe partea de răsărit, în locul pentru cenuşă. 17 Să-i rupă aripile fără a le scoate de tot. După aceea, preotul să ardă pasărea pe altar, pe lemnele de pe foc. Aceasta este o ardere de tot, o jertfă mistuită de foc de o aromă plăcută Domnului.

The Burnt Offering
1 Now the Lord (A)called to Moses, and spoke to him (B)from the tabernacle of meeting, saying, 2 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: (C)‘When any one of you brings an offering to the Lord, you shall bring your offering of the livestock—of the herd and of the flock.
3 ‘If his offering is a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male (D)without blemish; he shall offer it of his own free will at the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the Lord. 4 (E)Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be (F)accepted on his behalf (G)to make atonement for him. 5 He shall kill the (H)bull before the Lord; (I)and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood (J)and sprinkle the blood all around on the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of meeting. 6 And he shall (K)skin the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces. 7 The sons of Aaron the priest shall put (L)fire on the altar, and (M)lay the wood in order on the fire. 8 Then the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat in order on the wood that is on the fire upon the altar; 9 but he shall wash its entrails and its legs with water. And the priest shall burn all on the altar as a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a (N)sweet[a] aroma to the Lord.
10 ‘If his offering is of the flocks—of the sheep or of the goats—as a burnt sacrifice, he shall bring a male (O)without blemish. 11 (P)He shall kill it on the north side of the altar before the Lord; and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall sprinkle its blood all around on the altar. 12 And he shall cut it into its pieces, with its head and its fat; and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire upon the altar; 13 but he shall wash the entrails and the legs with water. Then the priest shall bring it all and burn it on the altar; it is a burnt sacrifice, an (Q)offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the Lord.
14 ‘And if the burnt sacrifice of his offering to the Lord is of birds, then he shall bring his offering of (R)turtledoves or young pigeons. 15 The priest shall bring it to the altar, [b]wring off its head, and burn it on the altar; its blood shall be drained out at the side of the altar. 16 And he shall remove its crop with its feathers and cast it (S)beside the altar on the east side, into the place for ashes. 17 Then he shall split it at its wings, but (T)shall not divide it completely; and the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. (U)It is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, a [c]sweet aroma to the Lord.

3 “If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer (D)a male without blemish. He shall bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting, that he may be accepted before the Lord. 4 (E)He shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be (F)accepted for him (G)to make atonement for him. 5 Then he shall kill the bull before the Lord, and Aaron's sons the priests shall bring the blood (H)and throw the blood against the sides of the altar that is at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 6 Then he shall flay the burnt offering and cut it into pieces, 7 and the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and (I)arrange wood on the fire. 8 And Aaron's sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, the head, and the fat, on the wood that is on the fire on the altar; 9 but its entrails and its legs he shall wash with water. 10 “If his gift for a burnt offering is from the flock, from the sheep or goats, he shall bring a male without blemish, 11 (L)and he shall kill it on the north side of the altar before the Lord, and Aaron's sons the priests shall throw its blood against the sides of the altar. 12 And he shall cut it into pieces, with its head and its fat, and the priest shall arrange them on the wood that is on the fire on the altar, 13 but the entrails and the legs he shall wash with water. And the priest shall offer all of it and burn it on the altar; it is (M)a burnt offering, a food offering with (N)a pleasing aroma to the Lord.
14 “If his offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, then he shall bring his offering of (O)turtledoves or pigeons. 15 And the priest shall bring it to the altar and wring off its head and burn it on the altar. Its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar. 16 He shall remove its crop with its contents[b] and cast it (P)beside the altar on the east side, in the place for ashes. 17 He shall tear it open by its wings, but (Q)shall not sever it completely. And the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire. It is a burnt offering, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

1 De Heer riep Mozes bij Zich in de tent van ontmoeting. Hij zei tegen hem: 2 "Geef de Israëlieten de volgende regels over de brand-offers.
Als iemand Mij een brand-offer wil brengen, dan moet hij een dier van zijn vee geven: een rund, een schaap of een geit.
3 Als hij een rund wil offeren, moet hij een gezonde jonge stier uitzoeken. Hij moet hem bij de ingang van de tent van ontmoeting offeren. Hij moet het dier vrijwillig en van harte offeren. 4 Hij moet zijn hand op de kop van het dier leggen.[a] Zo zal Ik de man vergeving kunnen geven voor wat hij verkeerd gedaan heeft. 5 Daarna moet hij de stier bij Mij slachten bij het altaar dat bij de ingang van de tent van ontmoeting staat. De zonen van Aäron, de priesters, moeten het bloed rondom tegen de zijkanten van het altaar werpen. 6 Daarna moet de man de huid van het dier afstropen en het dier in stukken snijden. 7 De priester moet hout op het vuur op het altaar leggen. 8 Op dat houtvuur moet hij de stukken vlees, de kop en het vet leggen. 9 De darmen en de poten moet hij met water wassen. Daarna moet de priester die op de andere stukken leggen en dan alles op het altaar verbranden. Als hij het zó doet, ben Ik blij met het offer.
10 Als hij een schaap of geit wil offeren, moet hij een gezond mannetjes-dier uitzoeken. 11 Hij moet het bij Mij slachten aan de noordkant van het altaar bij de ingang van de tent van ontmoeting. De priester moet het bloed rondom tegen de zijkanten van het altaar werpen. 12 Daarna moet de man het dier in stukken snijden. De priester moet de stukken vlees, de kop en het vet op het houtvuur op het altaar leggen. 13 De darmen en de poten moeten met water gewassen worden. Daarna moet de priester die op de andere stukken leggen en dan alles op het altaar verbranden. Als hij het zó doet, ben Ik blij met het offer.
14 Als hij Mij vogels wil offeren, moet hij daarvoor twee duiven nemen. 15 De priester moet bij het altaar de koppen eraf draaien en op het altaar verbranden. Hij moet tegen de zijkant van het altaar het bloed uit de lijfjes drukken. 16 Dan moet hij de krop uit de vogel halen en met de veren aan de oostkant naast het altaar op de ashoop gooien. 17 Hij moet de vleugels inscheuren, zonder ze van de lijfjes te trekken. Daarna moet de priester de vogels verbranden op het houtvuur op het altaar. Als hij het zó doet, ben Ik blij met het offer."[b]
