Gli olocausti(A)
1 (B)Il Signore chiamò *Mosè, gli parlò dalla *tenda di convegno e gli disse: 2 «Parla ai figli d'*Israele e di' loro:
“Quando qualcuno di voi vorrà portare un'offerta al Signore, offrirete bestiame grosso o minuto.
3 Se la sua offerta è un olocausto di bestiame grosso, offrirà un maschio senza difetto: l'offrirà all'ingresso della tenda di convegno, per ottenere il favore del Signore. 4 Poserà la mano sulla testa dell'olocausto, e il Signore lo accetterà come espiazione. 5 Poi sgozzerà il vitello davanti al Signore e i *sacerdoti, figli d'*Aaronne, offriranno il sangue e lo spargeranno sull'altare, da ogni lato, all'ingresso della tenda di convegno. 6 Poi scuoierà l'olocausto e lo taglierà a pezzi. 7 I figli del sacerdote Aaronne metteranno del fuoco sull'altare e disporranno della legna sul fuoco. 8 Poi i sacerdoti, figli d'Aaronne, disporranno quei pezzi, la testa e il grasso, sulla legna messa sul fuoco che è sull'altare; 9 ma laverà con acqua le interiora e le zampe, e il sacerdote farà fumare ogni cosa sull'altare, come olocausto, sacrificio di profumo soave, consumato dal fuoco per il Signore.
10 Se la sua offerta è un olocausto di bestiame minuto, pecore o capre, offrirà un maschio senza difetto. 11 Lo sgozzerà dal lato settentrionale dell'altare davanti al Signore; i sacerdoti, figli d'Aaronne, ne spargeranno il sangue sull'altare da ogni lato. 12 Poi lo taglierà a pezzi e, insieme con la testa e il grasso, il sacerdote li disporrà sulla legna messa sul fuoco sopra l'altare. 13 Ma laverà con acqua le interiora e le zampe; poi il sacerdote offrirà ogni cosa e la brucerà sull'altare. Questo è un olocausto, un sacrificio di profumo soave, consumato dal fuoco per il Signore.
14 (C)«“Se la sua offerta al Signore è un olocausto di uccelli, offrirà delle tortore o dei giovani piccioni. 15 Il sacerdote offrirà in sacrificio l'uccello sull'altare, gli staccherà la testa, la brucerà sull'altare, e il sangue sarà fatto colare sopra uno dei lati dell'altare. 16 Poi gli toglierà il gozzo con quel che contiene, e lo getterà sul lato orientale dell'altare, nel luogo delle ceneri. 17 Spaccherà quindi l'uccello per le ali, senza però dividerlo in due, e il sacerdote lo brucerà sull'altare, sulla legna messa sopra il fuoco. Questo è un olocausto, un sacrificio di profumo soave, consumato dal fuoco per il Signore.

Gli olocausti
1 Il Signore chiamò Mosè e dalla tenda del convegno gli disse: 2 «Parla agli Israeliti e riferisci loro: Quando uno di voi vorrà fare un'offerta al Signore, offrirete bestiame grosso o minuto. 3 Se l'offerta è un olocausto di grosso bestiame, egli offrirà un maschio senza difetto; l'offrirà all'ingresso della tenda del convegno, per ottenere il favore del Signore. 4 Poserà la mano sulla testa della vittima, che sarà accettata in suo favore per fare il rito espiatorio per lui. 5 Poi immolerà il capo di grosso bestiame davanti al Signore, e i sacerdoti, figli di Aronne, offriranno il sangue e lo spargeranno intorno all'altare, che è all'ingresso della tenda del convegno. 6 Scorticherà la vittima e la taglierà a pezzi. 7 I figli del sacerdote Aronne porranno il fuoco sull'altare e metteranno la legna sul fuoco, 8 poi sulla legna e sul fuoco che è sull'altare disporranno i pezzi, la testa e il grasso. 9 Laverà con acqua le interiora e le zampe; poi il sacerdote brucerà il tutto sull'altare come olocausto, sacrificio consumato dal fuoco, profumo soave per il Signore.
10 Se la sua offerta è un olocausto di bestiame minuto, pecora o capra, egli offrirà un maschio senza difetto. 11 Lo immolerà dal lato settentrionale dell'altare davanti al Signore e i sacerdoti, figli di Aronne, spargeranno il sangue attorno all'altare. 12 Lo taglierà a pezzi, con la testa e il grasso, e il sacerdote li disporrà sulla legna, collocata sul fuoco dell'altare. 13 Laverà con acqua le interiora e le zampe; poi il sacerdote offrirà il tutto e lo brucerà sull'altare: olocausto, sacrificio consumato dal fuoco, profumo soave per il Signore.
14 Se la sua offerta al Signore è un olocausto di uccelli, offrirà tortore o colombi. 15 Il sacerdote li offrirà all'altare, ne staccherà la testa, che farà bruciare sull'altare, e il sangue sarà spruzzato sulla parete dell'altare. 16 Poi toglierà il gozzo con le sue immondezze e lo getterà al lato orientale dell'altare, dov'è il luogo delle ceneri. 17 Dividerà l'uccello in due metà prendendolo per le ali, ma senza separarlo, e il sacerdote lo brucerà sull'altare, sulla legna che è sul fuoco, come olocausto, sacrificio consumato dal fuoco, profumo soave per il Signore.

The Burnt Offering
1 The Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the Meeting Tent. The Lord said, 2 “Tell the people of Israel: ‘When you bring an offering to the Lord, bring as your offering one of the cattle. Or you may bring one of the sheep or goats.
3 “‘If anyone offers a whole burnt offering from the cattle, it must be a male. It must have nothing wrong with it. The person must take the animal to the entrance of the Meeting Tent. Then the Lord will accept the offering. 4 The person must put his hand on the animal’s head. Then the Lord will accept that burnt offering. It will remove the person’s sin so he will belong to God. 5 The person must kill the young bull before the Lord. Then the priests must bring its blood to the altar. They must sprinkle the blood on all sides of the altar. This is the altar at the entrance to the Meeting Tent. 6 The person will cut the skin from that animal. Then he will cut the animal into pieces. 7 The priests must put wood and fire on the altar. 8 They must lay the head, the fat and other pieces on the wood. That wood is on the fire on the altar. 9 The priest must wash the animal’s inner organs and legs with water. Then the priest must burn all the animal’s parts on the altar. It is a whole burnt offering, an offering made by fire. And its smell is pleasing to the Lord.
10 “‘The burnt offering may be a sheep or goat. It must be a male animal that has nothing wrong with it. 11 The person must kill the animal on the north side of the altar. This is to be before the Lord. Then the priests must sprinkle its blood on the altar. They must sprinkle it on all sides. 12 The person must cut the animal into pieces. Then the priest must lay the pieces with the head and fat on the wood. The wood is on the fire on the altar. 13 The person must wash the animal’s inner organs and legs with water. Then the priest must burn all its parts on the altar. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire. And its smell is pleasing to the Lord.
14 “‘The whole burnt offering may be a bird. It must be a dove or a young pigeon. 15 The priest will bring the offering to the altar. He will pull off the bird’s head. Then he will burn it on the altar. The bird’s blood must be drained out on the side of the altar. 16 The priest must remove the bird’s crop[a] and its contents. He must throw them on the east side of the altar. This is where they put the ashes from the altar. 17 Then the priest must tear the bird open by its wings. But he must not divide the bird into two parts. Then the priest must burn the bird on the altar. He must place it on the wood which is on the fire. It is a burnt offering, an offering made by fire. Its smell is pleasing to the Lord.

The Burnt Offering
1 The Lord called to Moses(A) and spoke to him from the tent of meeting.(B) He said, 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When anyone among you brings an offering to the Lord,(C) bring as your offering an animal from either the herd or the flock.(D)
3 “‘If the offering is a burnt offering(E) from the herd,(F) you are to offer a male without defect.(G) You must present it at the entrance to the tent(H) of meeting so that it will be acceptable(I) to the Lord. 4 You are to lay your hand on the head(J) of the burnt offering,(K) and it will be accepted(L) on your behalf to make atonement(M) for you. 5 You are to slaughter(N) the young bull(O) before the Lord, and then Aaron’s sons(P) the priests shall bring the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar(Q) at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 6 You are to skin(R) the burnt offering and cut it into pieces.(S) 7 The sons of Aaron the priest are to put fire on the altar and arrange wood(T) on the fire. 8 Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat,(U) on the wood(V) that is burning on the altar. 9 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water,(W) and the priest is to burn all of it(X) on the altar.(Y) It is a burnt offering,(Z) a food offering,(AA) an aroma pleasing to the Lord.(AB)
10 “‘If the offering is a burnt offering from the flock, from either the sheep(AC) or the goats,(AD) you are to offer a male without defect. 11 You are to slaughter it at the north side of the altar(AE) before the Lord, and Aaron’s sons the priests shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar.(AF) 12 You are to cut it into pieces, and the priest shall arrange them, including the head and the fat,(AG) on the wood that is burning on the altar. 13 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water,(AH) and the priest is to bring all of them and burn them(AI) on the altar.(AJ) It is a burnt offering,(AK) a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
14 “‘If the offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, you are to offer a dove or a young pigeon.(AL) 15 The priest shall bring it to the altar, wring off the head(AM) and burn it on the altar; its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar.(AN) 16 He is to remove the crop and the feathers[a] and throw them down east of the altar where the ashes(AO) are. 17 He shall tear it open by the wings, not dividing it completely,(AP) and then the priest shall burn it on the wood(AQ) that is burning on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
