²⁴ Fire^(A) came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown.^(B)

The Death of Nadab and Abihu

10 Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu^(C) took their censers,^(D) put fire in them^(E) and added incense;^(F) and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord,^(G) contrary to his command.^{(H) 2} So fire came out^(I) from the presence of the Lord and consumed them,^(J) and they died before the Lord.^(K)
