¹⁸ “‘Do not seek revenge^(A) or bear a grudge^(B) against anyone among your people,^(C) but love your neighbor^(D) as yourself.^(E) I am the Lord.

³⁴ The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born.^(A) Love them as yourself,^(B) for you were foreigners^(C) in Egypt.^(D) I am the Lord your God.

¹⁶ And I charged your judges at that time, “Hear the disputes between your people and judge^(A) fairly,^(B) whether the case is between two Israelites or between an Israelite and a foreigner residing among you.^{(C) 17} Do not show partiality^(D) in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be afraid of anyone,^(E) for judgment belongs to God. Bring me any case too hard for you, and I will hear it.”^(F)

¹² This is what the Lord says to you, house of David:

³ This is what the Lord says: Do what is just^(A) and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor^(B) the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow,^(C) and do not shed innocent blood^(D) in this place.

⁴⁴ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,^{(A) 45} that you may be children^(B) of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.^{(C) 46} If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?^(D) Are not even the tax collectors doing that? ⁴⁷ And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? ⁴⁸ Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.^(E)

¹² So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you,^(A) for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.^(B)
