⁹ Then the sons of Aaron brought the blood to him. And he dipped his finger in the blood, put it on the horns of the altar, and poured the blood at the base of the altar.

¹⁵ and Moses killed it. ^(A)Then he took the blood, and put some on the horns of the altar all around with his finger, and purified the altar. And he poured the blood at the base of the altar, and consecrated it, to make ^[a]atonement for it.

⁶ The priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before the Lord, in front of the ^(A)veil of the sanctuary. ⁷ And the priest shall ^(B)put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of meeting; and he shall pour ^(C)the remaining blood of the bull at the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

⁴ For ^(A)it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

Christ’s Death Fulfills God’s Will^(B)

⁵ Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:

⁸ Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), ⁹ then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, ^[a]O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. ^10 (D)By that will we have been ^[b]sanctified ^(E)through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified

¹¹ And every priest stands ^(F)ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. ^12 (G)But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down ^(H)at the right hand of God, ¹³ from that time waiting ^(I)till His enemies are made His footstool. ¹⁴ For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being ^[c]sanctified.

¹⁵ But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,

^16 (J)“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” ¹⁷ then He adds, ^(K)“Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” ¹⁸ Now where there is ^[d]remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

Hold Fast Your Confession

¹⁹ Therefore, brethren, having ^(L)boldness^[e] to enter ^(M)the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,

²² And according to the law almost all things are ^[a]purified with blood, and ^(A)without shedding of blood there is no ^[b]remission.

Greatness of Christ’s Sacrifice

²³ Therefore it was necessary that ^(B)the copies of the things in the heavens should be ^[c]purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Bringing Many Sons to Glory

¹⁰ For it was fitting for Him, ^(A)for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation ^(B)perfect through sufferings.

¹⁸ And he shall go out to the altar that is before the Lord, and make atonement for ^(A)it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around.

¹⁸ He also killed the bull and the ram as ^(A)sacrifices of peace offerings, which were for the people. And Aaron’s sons presented to him the blood, which he sprinkled all around on the altar,

¹² And he killed the burnt offering; and Aaron’s sons presented to him the blood, ^(A)which he sprinkled all around on the altar.
