⁷ And Moses said to Aaron, “Go to the altar, ^(A)offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. ^(B)Offer the offering of the people, and make atonement for them, as the Lord commanded.”

³ Because of this he is required as for the people, so also for ^(A)himself, to offer sacrifices for sins.

Qualifications for High Priesthood

5 For every high priest taken from among men ^(A)is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

⁷ But into the second part the high priest went alone ^(A)once a year, not without blood, which he offered for ^(B)himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance;

^3 (A)if the anointed priest sins, bringing guilt on the people, then let him offer to the Lord for his sin which he has sinned ^(B)a young bull without blemish as a ^(C)sin offering.

²⁷ who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His ^(A)own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. ²⁸ For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.

¹⁴ And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house ^(A)shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.”

² And he said to Aaron, “Take for yourself a young ^(A)bull as a sin offering and a ram as a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the Lord.

^34 (A)As he has done this day, so the Lord has commanded to do, to make atonement for you.

^16 (A)The anointed priest shall bring some of the bull’s blood to the tabernacle of meeting. ¹⁷ Then the priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil. ¹⁸ And he shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of meeting; and he shall pour the remaining blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. ¹⁹ He shall take all the fat from it and burn it on the altar. ²⁰ And he shall do ^(B)with the bull as he did with the bull as a sin offering; thus he shall do with it. ^(C)So the priest shall make ^[a]atonement for them, and it shall be forgiven them.
