³ “‘If the anointed priest^(A) sins,^(B) bringing guilt on the people, he must bring to the Lord a young bull^(C) without defect^(D) as a sin offering^[a](E) for the sin he has committed.^(F)

²⁷ Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices^(A) day after day, first for his own sins,^(B) and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all^(C) when he offered himself.^{(D) 28} For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness;^(E) but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son,^(F) who has been made perfect^(G) forever.

²¹ God made him who had no sin^(A) to be sin^[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.^(B)

² He said to Aaron, “Take a bull calf for your sin offering^[a] and a ram for your burnt offering, both without defect, and present them before the Lord.

¹⁴ and the sin they committed becomes known, the assembly must bring a young bull^(A) as a sin offering^(B) and present it before the tent of meeting.

³ This is why he has to offer sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of the people.^(A)

³⁵ Then the exiles who had returned from captivity sacrificed burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls^(A) for all Israel,^(B) ninety-six rams, seventy-seven male lambs and, as a sin offering,^[a] twelve male goats.^(C) All this was a burnt offering to the Lord.

³ For what the law was powerless^(A) to do because it was weakened by the flesh,^[a](B) God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh^(C) to be a sin offering.^[b](D) And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

¹⁹ You are to give a young bull^(A) as a sin offering^[a] to the Levitical priests of the family of Zadok,^(B) who come near^(C) to minister before me, declares the Sovereign Lord.
