⁴⁴ Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, ^(A)I will not spurn them, neither will I abhor them so as to destroy them utterly and ^(B)break my covenant with them, for I am the Lord their God.

^2 (A)God has not rejected his people whom he ^(B)foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he appeals to God against Israel?

³¹ Nevertheless, ^(A)in your great mercies ^(B)you did not make an end of them or forsake them, ^(C)for you are a gracious and merciful God.

^23 (A)But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion on them, ^(B)and he turned toward them, ^(C)because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, nor has he cast them from his presence until now.

^29 (A)But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. ³⁰ When you are in tribulation, and all these things come upon you ^(B)in the latter days, you will return to the Lord your God and obey his voice. ³¹ For the Lord your God is ^(C)a merciful God. ^(D)He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them.

²⁶ And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,

⁶⁰ yet ^(A)I will remember my covenant with you ^(B)in the days of your youth, ^(C)and I will establish for you an everlasting covenant.

²² But behold, ^(A)some survivors will be left in it, sons and daughters who will be brought out; behold, when they come out to you, and ^(B)you see their ways and their deeds, you will be consoled for the disaster that I have brought upon Jerusalem, for all that I have brought upon it. ²³ They will console you, when you see their ways and their deeds, and you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, declares the Lord God.”
