^18 (A)“Therefore you shall do my statutes and keep my rules and perform them, and then ^(B)you will dwell in the land securely.

⁶ In his days Judah will be saved, and ^(A)Israel will ^(B)dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ^(C)‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

¹⁰ But when ^(A)you go over the Jordan and live in the land that the Lord your God is giving you to inherit, ^(B)and when he gives you rest from all your enemies around, so that you live in safety,

^24 (A)“Son of man, the inhabitants of these ^(B)waste places in the land of Israel keep saying, ^(C)‘Abraham was only one man, yet he got possession of the land; but ^(D)we are many; the land is surely given us to possess.’ ²⁵ Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: ^(E)You eat flesh with the blood and ^(F)lift up your eyes to your idols and ^(G)shed blood; shall you then possess the land? ^26 (H)You rely on the sword, ^(I)you commit abominations, and ^(J)each of you defiles his neighbor's wife; shall you then possess the land?

Blessings for Obedience

28 “And ^(A)if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you ^(B)high above all the nations of the earth. ² And all these blessings shall come upon you and ^(C)overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. ³ Blessed shall you be in the city, and ^(D)blessed shall you be in the field. ⁴ Blessed shall be ^(E)the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. ⁵ Blessed shall be your basket and your ^(F)kneading bowl. ⁶ Blessed shall you be ^(G)when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

⁷ “The Lord ^(H)will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. ⁸ The Lord ^(I)will command the blessing on you in your barns and ^(J)in all that you undertake. ^(K)And he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. ^9 (L)The Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways. ¹⁰ And ^(M)all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are ^(N)called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be ^(O)afraid of you. ¹¹ And ^(P)the Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in ^(Q)the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your livestock and in the fruit of your ground, within the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. ¹² The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, ^(R)to give the rain to your land in its season and ^(S)to bless all the work of your hands. And ^(T)you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. ¹³ And the Lord will make you ^(U)the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them, ^14 (V)and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

^3 (A)“If you walk in my statutes and observe my commandments and do them, ⁴ then ^(B)I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. ^5 (C)Your threshing shall last to the time of the grape harvest, and the grape harvest shall last to the time for sowing. And ^(D)you shall eat your bread to the full and ^(E)dwell in your land securely. ^6 (F)I will give peace in the land, and ^(G)you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid. And ^(H)I will remove harmful beasts from the land, ^(I)and the sword shall not go through your land. ⁷ You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword. ^8 (J)Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand, and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword. ^9 (K)I will turn to you and ^(L)make you fruitful and multiply you and will confirm my covenant with you. ¹⁰ You shall eat ^(M)old store long kept, and you shall clear out the old to make way for the new. ^11 (N)I will make my dwelling^[a] among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. ^12 (O)And I ^(P)will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people.

^24 (A)I will take you ^(B)from the nations and gather you from all the countries and ^(C)bring you into your own land. ^25 (D)I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from ^(E)all your uncleannesses, and ^(F)from all your idols ^(G)I will cleanse you. ²⁶ And I will give you ^(H)a new heart, and ^(I)a new spirit I will put within you. ^(J)And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. ^27 (K)And I will put my Spirit within you, ^(L)and cause you to walk in my statutes and ^(M)be careful to obey my rules.^{[a] 28 (N)}You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and ^(O)you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
