²³ Moses spoke thus to the Israelites, and they took the blasphemer outside the camp and stoned him to death. The Israelites did as the Lord had commanded Moses.

²⁸ Anyone who has violated the law of Moses dies without mercy “on the testimony of two or three witnesses.”^{(A) 29} How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by those who have spurned the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant by which they were sanctified, and outraged the Spirit of grace?^(B)

² For if the message declared through angels proved valid, and every transgression or disobedience received a just penalty,^{(A) 3} how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? It was declared at first through the Lord, and it was confirmed for us by those who heard him,^(B)

³⁵ Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man shall be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him outside the camp.”^{(A) 36} The whole congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

¹⁴ “Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and let all who were within hearing lay their hands on his head, and let the whole congregation stone him.^{(A) 15} And speak to the Israelites, saying: Anyone who curses God shall incur guilt. ¹⁶ One who blasphemes the name of the Lord shall be put to death; the whole congregation shall stone the blasphemer. Aliens as well as the native-born, when they blaspheme the Name, shall be put to death.^(B)
