¹⁸ “Speak to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israelites and say to them: ‘If any of you—whether an Israelite or a foreigner residing in Israel^(A)—presents a gift^(B) for a burnt offering to the Lord, either to fulfill a vow^(C) or as a freewill offering,^(D)

⁶ there bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes^(A) and special gifts, what you have vowed^(B) to give and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks.^(C)

³ and you present to the Lord food offerings from the herd or the flock,^(A) as an aroma pleasing to the Lord^(B)—whether burnt offerings^(C) or sacrifices, for special vows or freewill offerings^(D) or festival offerings^(E)—

² “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When anyone among you brings an offering to the Lord,^(A) bring as your offering an animal from either the herd or the flock.^(B)

Priscilla, Aquila and Apollos

¹⁸ Paul stayed on in Corinth for some time. Then he left the brothers and sisters^(A) and sailed for Syria,^(B) accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila.^(C) Before he sailed, he had his hair cut off at Cenchreae^(D) because of a vow he had taken.^(E)

¹⁶ At this the men greatly feared^(A) the Lord, and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord and made vows^(B) to him.

⁴ When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it.^(A) He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow.^(B)
