³⁷ “‘Keep all my decrees^(A) and all my laws^(B) and follow them. I am the Lord.’”

Do Not Forget the Lord

8 Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live^(A) and increase and may enter and possess the land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors.^(B)

⁴ You must obey my laws^(A) and be careful to follow my decrees.^(B) I am the Lord your God.^{(C) 5} Keep my decrees and laws,^(D) for the person who obeys them will live by them.^(E) I am the Lord.

²² and receive from him anything we ask,^(A) because we keep his commands^(B) and do what pleases him.^{(C) 23} And this is his command: to believe^(D) in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ,^(E) and to love one another as he commanded us.^(F)

The Ten Commandments^(A)

5 Moses summoned all Israel and said:

Hear, Israel, the decrees and laws^(B) I declare in your hearing today. Learn them and be sure to follow them.

Love the Lord Your God

6 These are the commands, decrees and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, ² so that you, your children and their children after them may fear^(A) the Lord your God as long as you live^(B) by keeping all his decrees and commands^(C) that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.^(D)

⁵ See, I have taught^(A) you decrees and laws^(B) as the Lord my God commanded^(C) me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering^(D) to take possession of it. ⁶ Observe^(E) them carefully, for this will show your wisdom^(F) and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”^(G)
