^31 (A)“Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the Lord your God.

¹⁹ And when they say to you, “Inquire of the ^(A)mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of ^(B)the dead on behalf of the living?

^27 (A)“A man or a woman who is a medium or a necromancer shall surely be put to death. They shall be ^(B)stoned with stones; ^(C)their blood shall be upon them.”

⁶ “If ^(A)a person turns to mediums and necromancers, whoring after them, ^(B)I will set my face against that person and will cut him off from among his people. ^7 (C)Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God.

^6 (A)And he burned his sons as an offering ^(B)in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, and ^(C)used fortune-telling and omens and sorcery, and dealt with ^(D)mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.

¹³ So Saul died ^(A)for his breach of faith. He broke faith with the Lord in that he did not keep the command of the Lord, and also ^(B)consulted a medium, seeking guidance.

^6 (A)And he burned his son as an offering^[a] and ^(B)used fortune-telling and ^(C)omens and dealt ^(D)with mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.

^8 (A)But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, ^(B)their portion will be in ^(C)the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is ^(D)the second death.”

³ Now ^(A)Samuel had died, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him ^(B)in Ramah, his own city. And Saul had put ^(C)the mediums and the necromancers out of the land.
