²⁰ ‘Whoever lies carnally with a woman who is ^(A)betrothed to a man as a concubine, and who has not at all been redeemed nor given her freedom, for this there shall be ^[a]scourging; but they shall not be put to death, because she was not free.

²³ “If a young woman who is a virgin is ^(A)betrothed to a husband, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her, ²⁴ then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he ^(B)humbled his neighbor’s wife; ^(C)so you shall put away the evil from among you.

²⁰ “And if a man beats his male or female servant with a rod, so that he dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished. ²¹ Notwithstanding, if he remains alive a day or two, he shall not be punished; for he is his ^(A)property.
