⁵ You shall keep my statutes and my ordinances; by doing so one shall live: I am the Lord.^(A)

Salvation Is for All

⁵ Moses writes concerning the righteousness that comes from the law, that “the person who does these things will live by them.”^(A)

¹¹ I gave them my statutes and showed them my ordinances, by whose observance everyone shall live.^(A)

¹² But the law does not rest on faith; on the contrary, “Whoever does the works of the law^[a] will live by them.”^(A)

²⁸ And he said to him, “You have given the right answer; do this, and you will live.”^(A)

²¹ But the children rebelled against me; they did not follow my statutes and were not careful to observe my ordinances, by whose observance everyone shall live; they profaned my Sabbaths.

Then I thought I would pour out my wrath upon them and spend my anger against them in the wilderness.^(A)

¹³ But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness; they did not observe my statutes but rejected my ordinances, by whose observance everyone shall live, and my Sabbaths they greatly profaned.

Then I thought I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to make an end of them.^(A)

⁶ Say therefore to the Israelites: I am the Lord, and I will free you from the burdens of the Egyptians and deliver you from slavery to them. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment.^(A)

² God also spoke to Moses and said to him, “I am the Lord.

⁶ For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, have not perished.^(A)
