²⁷ (for the inhabitants of the land, who were before you, committed all of these abominations, and the land became defiled);

¹¹ One commits abomination with his neighbor’s wife; another lewdly defiles his daughter-in-law; another in you defiles his sister, his father’s daughter.^(A)

⁵⁰ They were haughty and did abominable things before me; therefore I removed them when I saw it.^(A)

¹⁴ All the leading priests and the people also were exceedingly unfaithful, following all the abominations of the nations, and they polluted the house of the Lord that he had consecrated in Jerusalem.

¹⁵ “ ‘Cursed be anyone who makes an idol or casts an image, anything abhorrent to the Lord, the work of an artisan, and sets it up in secret.’ All the people shall respond, saying, ‘Amen!’^(A)

¹⁶ For all who do such things, all who act dishonestly, are abhorrent to the Lord your God.^(A)

¹⁸ You shall not bring the fee of a prostitute or the wages of a dog into the house of the Lord your God in payment for any vow, for both of these are abhorrent to the Lord your God.
