⁶ “Aaron shall ^(A)offer the bull as a sin offering for himself and shall ^(B)make atonement for himself and for his house.

⁷ but into the second only ^(A)the high priest goes, and he but ^(B)once a year, and not without taking blood, ^(C)which he offers for himself and for the unintentional sins of the people.

⁷ Then Moses said to Aaron, “Draw near to the altar and ^(A)offer your sin offering and your burnt offering and ^(B)make atonement for yourself and for the people, and bring the offering of the people and make atonement for them, as the Lord has commanded.”

²⁷ He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, ^(A)first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this ^(B)once for all when he offered up himself.

^2 (A)He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself ^(B)is beset with weakness. ³ Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins ^(C)just as he does for those of the people.

²⁷ And when they have completed these days, then ^(A)from the eighth day onward the priests shall offer on the altar your burnt offerings and your ^(B)peace offerings, and ^(C)I will accept you, declares the Lord God.”

¹⁹ you shall give to ^(A)the Levitical priests ^(B)of the family of Zadok, who draw near to me to minister to me, declares the Lord God, ^(C)a bull from the herd for a sin offering.

⁵ And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and ^(A)consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and ^(B)offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and ^(C)cursed^[a] God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.

Those Guilty of Intermarriage

¹⁸ Now there were found some of the sons of the priests who had married foreign women: Maaseiah, Eliezer, Jarib, and Gedaliah, some of the sons of ^(A)Jeshua the son of Jozadak and his brothers. ¹⁹ They ^(B)pledged themselves to put away their wives, and their guilt offering was ^(C)a ram of the flock for their guilt.^[a]
