² and the Lord said to Moses: “Tell Aaron your brother ^(A)not to come at just any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, lest he die; for ^(B)I will appear in the cloud above the mercy seat.

¹⁰ And ^(A)Aaron shall make atonement upon its horns once a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonement; once a year he shall make atonement upon it throughout your generations. It is most holy to the Lord.”

Hold Fast Your Confession

¹⁹ Therefore, brethren, having ^(A)boldness^[a] to enter ^(B)the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a new and ^(C)living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,

¹⁰ And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud ^(A)filled the house of the Lord, ¹¹ so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the ^(B)glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.

^12 (C)Then Solomon spoke:

²⁵ not that He should offer Himself often, as ^(A)the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another—

⁷ But into the second part the high priest went alone ^(A)once a year, not without blood, which he offered for ^(B)himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance; ⁸ the Holy Spirit indicating this, that ^(C)the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.

¹⁴ so that the priests could not ^[a]continue ministering because of the cloud; ^(A)for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.

⁶ Then the priests ^(A)brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord to ^(B)its place, into the inner sanctuary of the temple, to the Most Holy Place, ^(C)under the wings of the cherubim.

The Cloud and the Glory^(A)

^34 (B)Then the ^(C)cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the ^(D)glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. ³⁵ And Moses ^(E)was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
