¹⁶ Thus he shall ^(A)make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleannesses of the people of Israel and because of their transgressions, all their sins. And so he shall do for the tent of meeting, which dwells with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.

²² Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and ^(A)without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

²³ Thus it was necessary for ^(B)the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

¹⁸ “Thus says the Lord God: In the first month, ^(A)on the first day of the month, you shall take a bull from the herd without blemish, and ^(B)purify the sanctuary. ^19 (C)The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it ^(D)on the doorposts of the temple, the four corners of the ledge of the altar, and the posts of the gate of the inner court.

¹⁸ Then he shall go out to the altar that is ^(A)before the Lord and ^(B)make atonement for it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around.

³⁶ and every day you shall offer a ^(A)bull as a sin offering for atonement. Also you shall purify the altar, when you make atonement for it, and shall ^(B)anoint it to consecrate it. ³⁷ Seven days you shall make atonement for the altar and consecrate it, and the ^(C)altar shall be most holy. ^(D)Whatever touches the altar shall become holy.

¹⁵ And he^[a] killed it, and ^(A)Moses took the blood, and with his finger put it on the horns of the altar around it and purified the altar and poured out the blood at the base of the altar and consecrated it to make atonement for it.

³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you ^(A)to myself, that ^(B)where I am you may be also.
