10 but the goat on which the lot fell for (A)Azazel shall be presented alive before the Lord to make atonement over it, that it may be sent away into the wilderness to (B)Azazel.

(A)He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but (B)also for the sins of the whole world.

23 Thus it was necessary for (A)the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ has entered, not into holy places (B)made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God (C)on our behalf.

21 And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall (A)put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness. 22 The goat shall (B)bear all their iniquities on itself to a remote area, and (C)he shall let the goat go free in the wilderness.

16 By this we know love, that (A)he laid down his life for us, and (B)we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

26 For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, (A)holy, innocent, unstained, (B)separated from sinners, and (C)exalted above the heavens. 27 He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, (D)first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this (E)once for all when he offered up himself.

25 whom God (A)put forward as (B)a propitiation (C)by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in (D)his divine forbearance he had passed over (E)former sins.

(A)Surely he has borne our griefs
    and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
    (B)smitten by God, and afflicted.
(C)But he was pierced for our transgressions;
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
    (D)and with his wounds we are healed.
(E)All we like sheep have gone astray;
    we have turned—every one—to his own way;
(F)and the Lord has laid on him
    the iniquity of us all.

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
    (G)yet he opened not his mouth;
(H)like a (I)lamb that is led to the slaughter,
    and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent,
    so he opened not his mouth.
By oppression and judgment he was taken away;
    and as for his generation, (J)who considered
that he was cut off out of the land of the living,
    stricken for the transgression of my people?
And they made his grave with the wicked
    (K)and with a rich man in his death,
although (L)he had done no violence,
    and there was no deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet (M)it was the will of the Lord to crush him;
    he has put him to grief;[a]
(N)when his soul makes[b] an offering for guilt,
    he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days;
(O)the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see[c] and be satisfied;
by his knowledge shall (P)the righteous one, my servant,
    (Q)make many to be accounted righteous,
    (R)and he shall bear their iniquities.
