¹⁰ but the goat on which the lot fell for ^(A)Azazel shall be presented alive before the Lord to make atonement over it, that it may be sent away into the wilderness to ^(B)Azazel.

^2 (A)He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but ^(B)also for the sins of the whole world.

²³ Thus it was necessary for ^(A)the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. ²⁴ For Christ has entered, not into holy places ^(B)made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God ^(C)on our behalf.

²¹ And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall ^(A)put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness. ²² The goat shall ^(B)bear all their iniquities on itself to a remote area, and ^(C)he shall let the goat go free in the wilderness.

¹⁶ By this we know love, that ^(A)he laid down his life for us, and ^(B)we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

²⁶ For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, ^(A)holy, innocent, unstained, ^(B)separated from sinners, and ^(C)exalted above the heavens. ²⁷ He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, ^(D)first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this ^(E)once for all when he offered up himself.

^21 (A)For our sake he made him to be sin ^(B)who knew no sin, so that in him we might become ^(C)the righteousness of God.

^25 (A)who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised ^(B)for our justification.

²⁵ whom God ^(A)put forward as ^(B)a propitiation ^(C)by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in ^(D)his divine forbearance he had passed over ^(E)former sins.
