³¹ “Thus you shall keep the people of Israel separate from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness by ^(A)defiling my tabernacle that is in their midst.”

²⁰ “If the man who is unclean does not cleanse himself, ^(A)that person shall be cut off from the midst of the assembly, since he has defiled the sanctuary of the Lord. Because the water for impurity has not been thrown on him, he is unclean.

¹¹ Therefore, ^(A)as I live, declares the Lord God, surely, ^(B)because you have defiled my sanctuary ^(C)with all your detestable things and with all your ^(D)abominations, ^(E)therefore I will withdraw.^{[a] (F)}My eye will not spare, and I will have no pity.

¹³ Whoever touches a dead person, the body of anyone who has died, and does not cleanse himself, ^(A)defiles the tabernacle of the Lord, ^(B)and that person shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not thrown on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is still on him.

³⁸ Moreover, this they have done to me: ^(A)they have defiled my sanctuary on the same day and ^(B)profaned my Sabbaths.

³ You shall put out both male and female, putting them outside the camp, that they may not defile their camp, ^(A)in the midst of which I dwell.”

⁴ For ^(A)certain people ^(B)have crept in unnoticed ^(C)who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert ^(D)the grace of our God into sensuality and ^(E)deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

^14 (A)Strive for peace with everyone, and for the ^(B)holiness ^(C)without which no one will see the Lord. ¹⁵ See to it that no one ^(D)fails to obtain the grace of God; that no ^(E)“root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

²⁹ How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one ^(A)who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned ^(B)the blood of the covenant ^(C)by which he was sanctified, and has ^(D)outraged the Spirit of grace?
