³⁵ the owner of the house must go and tell the priest, ‘I have seen something that looks like a defiling mold in my house.’

⁴ The Lord Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely^(A) by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.^(B)’”

²⁶ Do not bring a detestable thing into your house or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction.^(A) Regard it as vile and utterly detest it, for it is set apart for destruction.

³⁴ This was the sin^(A) of the house of Jeroboam that led to its downfall and to its destruction^(B) from the face of the earth.
