¹⁸ The rest of the oil in his palm the priest shall put on the head of the one to be cleansed^(A) and make atonement for them before the Lord.

²⁶ He shall burn all the fat on the altar as he burned the fat of the fellowship offering. In this way the priest will make atonement^(A) for the leader’s sin, and he will be forgiven.^(B)

¹⁷ I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father,^(A) may give you the Spirit^[a] of wisdom^(B) and revelation, so that you may know him better. ¹⁸ I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened^(C) in order that you may know the hope to which he has called^(D) you, the riches^(E) of his glorious inheritance^(F) in his holy people,^(G)

²¹ Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm^(A) in Christ. He anointed^(B) us, ²² set his seal^(C) of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.^(D)

¹² He poured some of the anointing oil on Aaron’s head and anointed^(A) him to consecrate him.^(B)

¹⁶ They must make restitution^(A) for what they have failed to do in regard to the holy things, pay an additional penalty of a fifth of its value^(B) and give it all to the priest. The priest will make atonement for them with the ram as a guilt offering, and they will be forgiven.

³¹ They shall remove all the fat, just as the fat is removed from the fellowship offering, and the priest shall burn it on the altar^(A) as an aroma pleasing to the Lord.^(B) In this way the priest will make atonement^(C) for them, and they will be forgiven.^(D)

⁷ Take the anointing oil^(A) and anoint him by pouring it on his head.
