³⁵ But if the sore does spread in the skin after they are pronounced clean,

¹³ while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse,^(A) deceiving and being deceived.^(B)

¹⁶ Avoid godless chatter,^(A) because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. ¹⁷ Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus^(B) and Philetus,

²⁷ On the seventh day the priest is to examine that person,^(A) and if it is spreading in the skin, the priest shall pronounce them unclean; it is a defiling skin disease.

⁷ But if the rash does spread in their skin after they have shown themselves to the priest to be pronounced clean, they must appear before the priest again.^(A)
