²⁹ “If a man or woman has a sore on the head or the beard,

¹¹ And ^(A)for this reason God will send them strong delusion, ^(B)that they should believe the lie, ¹² that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but ^(C)had pleasure in unrighteousness.

³ But even if our gospel is veiled, ^(A)it is veiled to those who are perishing, ⁴ whose minds ^(B)the god of this age ^(C)has blinded, who do not believe, lest ^(D)the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, ^(E)who is the image of God, should shine on them.

^9 (A)“Indeed, I myself thought I must do many things ^[a]contrary to the name of ^(B)Jesus of Nazareth. ^10 (C)This I also did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prison, having received authority ^(D)from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them.

^3 (A)“I am indeed a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city ^(B)at the feet of ^(C)Gamaliel, taught ^(D)according to the strictness of our fathers’ law, and ^(E)was zealous toward God ^(F)as you all are today. ^4 (G)I persecuted this Way to the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women,

^2 (A)They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming ^(B)that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. ³ And ^(C)these things they will do ^[a]to you because they have not known the Father nor Me.

¹⁴ And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says:

²³ But if your eye is ^[a]bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
