¹⁶ Or if the raw flesh changes and turns white again, he shall come to the priest.

¹³ although ^(A)I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an ^[a]insolent man; but I obtained mercy because ^(B)I did it ignorantly in unbelief. ^14 (C)And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, ^(D)with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. ^15 (E)This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that ^(F)Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

⁶ concerning zeal, ^(A)persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

⁷ But ^(B)what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. ⁸ Yet indeed I also count all things loss ^(C)for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

¹⁴ And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, ^(A)being more exceedingly zealous ^(B)for the traditions of my fathers.

¹⁵ But when it pleased God, ^(C)who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, ^16 (D)to reveal His Son in me, that ^(E)I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with ^(F)flesh and blood,

¹⁴ For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, ^(A)sold under sin. ¹⁵ For what I am doing, I do not understand. ^(B)For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. ¹⁶ If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. ¹⁷ But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. ¹⁸ For I know that ^(C)in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. ¹⁹ For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. ²⁰ Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.

²¹ I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. ²² For I ^(D)delight in the law of God according to ^(E)the inward man. ²³ But ^(F)I see another law in ^(G)my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. ²⁴ O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me ^(H)from this body of death?
