⁵ the ^[a]rock hyrax, because it chews the cud but does not have cloven hooves, is ^[b]unclean to you;

¹⁶ They profess to ^(A)know God, but ^(B)in works they deny Him, being ^[a]abominable, disobedient, ^(C)and disqualified for every good work.

^5 (A)having a form of godliness but ^(B)denying its power. And ^(C)from such people turn away!

¹⁸ For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are ^(A)the enemies of the cross of Christ: ^19 (B)whose end is destruction, ^(C)whose god is their belly, and ^(D)whose glory is in their shame—^(E)who set their mind on earthly things.

¹⁸ and ^(A)know His will, and ^(B)approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law, ¹⁹ and ^(C)are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, ²⁰ an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, ^(D)having the form of knowledge and truth in the law. ^21 (E)You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? ²² You who say, “Do not commit adultery,” do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, ^(F)do you rob temples? ²³ You who ^(G)make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? ²⁴ For ^(H)“the name of God is ^(I)blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” as it is written.
