³ Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Among ^(A)those who are near me ^(B)I will be sanctified, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” ^(C)And Aaron held his peace.

²² Also let the priests who come near to the Lord ^(A)consecrate themselves, lest the Lord ^(B)break out against them.”

⁶ They shall be holy to their God and ^(A)not profane the name of their God. For they offer the Lord's food offerings, ^(B)the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy.

¹² And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because ^(A)you did not believe in me, ^(B)to uphold me as holy in the eyes of the people of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them.”

¹² and said to them, “You are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites. ^(A)Consecrate yourselves, you and your brothers, so that you may bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel, ^(B)to the place that I have prepared for it. ^13 (C)Because you did not carry it the first time, the Lord our God broke out against us, because we did not seek him according to the rule.”

³⁰ Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares: ^(A)‘I promised that your house and the house of your father should go in and out before me forever,’ ^(B)but now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me, for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

²⁸ Therefore let us be grateful for receiving ^(A)a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus ^(B)let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, ²⁹ for our ^(C)God is a consuming fire.
