¹¹ and you are to teach the Israelites all the statutes that the Lord has spoken to them through Moses.”^(A)

²⁰ and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”^[a]

⁷ For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.^(A)

⁸ So they read from the book, from the law of God, with interpretation. They gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading.

² Accordingly, Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly, both men and women and all who could hear with understanding. This was on the first day of the seventh month.^(A)

A Plot against Jeremiah

¹⁸ Then they said, “Come, let us make plots against Jeremiah, for instruction shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, let us bring charges against him,^[a] and let us not heed any of his words.”^(A)

⁸ “Guard against an outbreak of a defiling skin disease by being very careful; you shall carefully observe whatever the Levitical priests instruct you, just as I have commanded them.^(A)

² For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.

²⁷ for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.^(A)
