⁷ The sons of Aaron the priest shall put ^(A)fire on the altar, and ^(B)lay the wood in order on the fire.

¹² And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it ^(A)the fat of the peace offerings. ¹³ A fire shall always be burning on the ^(B)altar; it shall never go out.

⁹ Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and ^(A)laid him on the altar, upon the wood.

³¹ and to bringing ^(A)the wood offering and the firstfruits at appointed times.

^(B)Remember me, O my God, for good!

Solomon Dedicates the Temple^(A)

7 When ^(B)Solomon had finished praying, ^(C)fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and ^(D)the glory of the Lord filled the ^[a]temple.

²⁶ And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on the Lord; and ^(A)He answered him from heaven by fire on the altar of burnt offering.

²⁴ and ^(A)fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they ^(B)shouted and fell on their ^(C)faces.

The Profane Fire of Nadab and Abihu

10 Then ^(D)Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, ^(E)each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered ^(F)profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them.
