Casos particulares de ofrendas por el pecado
5 ”Si alguien peca al ser llamado a testificar(A), siendo testigo de lo que ha visto o sabe, y no lo declara, será culpable. 2 O si alguien toca cualquier cosa inmunda, ya sea el cadáver de una fiera inmunda, o el cadáver de ganado inmundo, o el cadáver de un reptil inmundo(B), aunque no se dé cuenta de ello y se contamina, será culpable. 3 O si toca inmundicia humana, de cualquier clase que sea la inmundicia con que se contamine, sin darse cuenta, y después llega a saberlo, será culpable. 4 O si alguien, sin pensar, jura con sus labios hacer mal o hacer bien, en cualquier asunto que el hombre hable sin pensar con juramento(C), sin darse cuenta, y luego llega a saberlo, será culpable de cualquiera de estas cosas.
5 ”Cuando alguien llegue a ser culpable de cualquiera de estas cosas, confesará aquello en que ha pecado(D). 6 Traerá también al Señor su ofrenda por la culpa, por el pecado que ha cometido, una hembra del rebaño(E), una cordera o una cabra como ofrenda por el pecado. Entonces el sacerdote le hará expiación por su pecado.
7 ”Pero si no tiene lo suficiente para ofrecer un cordero, entonces traerá al Señor como ofrenda por la culpa de aquello en que ha pecado, dos tórtolas o dos pichones, uno como ofrenda por el pecado y el otro como holocausto(F). 8 Los traerá al sacerdote, el cual ofrecerá primero el que es para ofrenda por el pecado, y le cortará la cabeza por el cuello sin arrancarla(G). 9 Rociará también de la sangre de la ofrenda por el pecado sobre un lado del altar(H), y el resto de la sangre será exprimida al pie del altar(I); es ofrenda por el pecado. 10 Entonces preparará el segundo como holocausto según la ordenanza(J). Así el sacerdote hará expiación por él, por el pecado que ha cometido, y le será perdonado(K).
11 ”Pero si no tiene lo suficiente para dos tórtolas o dos pichones(L), entonces, como ofrenda por el pecado que ha cometido, traerá la décima parte de un efa (2.2 litros) de flor de harina como ofrenda por el pecado; no pondrá aceite ni incienso en ella, pues es ofrenda por el pecado(M). 12 Y la traerá al sacerdote, y el sacerdote tomará de ella un puñado como memorial, y la quemará sobre el altar con las ofrendas encendidas para el Señor. Es una ofrenda por el pecado. 13 Así el sacerdote hará expiación por él, por el pecado que ha cometido en alguna de estas cosas(N), y le será perdonado; el resto será del sacerdote, como en la ofrenda de cereal(O)”».
14 El Señor le dijo a Moisés: 15 «Si alguien comete una falta(P) y peca inadvertidamente en las cosas sagradas del Señor(Q), traerá su ofrenda por la culpa al Señor(R): un carnero sin defecto del rebaño(S), conforme a tu valuación en siclos de plata (un siclo equivale 11.4 gramos), según el siclo del santuario(T), como ofrenda por la culpa. 16 Hará restitución por aquello en que ha pecado en las cosas sagradas, y añadirá a ello la quinta parte(U), y se lo dará al sacerdote. Y el sacerdote hará expiación por él con el carnero de la ofrenda por la culpa, y le será perdonado(V).
17 »Si alguien peca y hace cualquiera de las cosas que el Señor ha mandado que no se hagan, aunque no se dé cuenta, será culpable(W) y llevará su castigo. 18 Entonces traerá al sacerdote un carnero sin defecto del rebaño(X), conforme a tu valuación, como ofrenda por la culpa. Así el sacerdote hará expiación por él por su error mediante el cual ha pecado inadvertidamente(Y), y sin él saberlo, y le será perdonado. 19 Es ofrenda por la culpa; ciertamente era culpable delante del Señor».

El perdón por diversos pecados
5 »Si alguien peca por negarse a declarar bajo juramento lo que vio o escuchó, sufrirá las consecuencias de su pecado.
2 »Si alguien, sin darse cuenta, toca alguna cosa ritualmente impura, tal como el cadáver de un animal impuro, sea o no doméstico, o el cadáver de un animal impuro que se arrastra por el suelo, se vuelve impuro él mismo y es culpable.
3 »Si alguien, sin darse cuenta, toca alguna impureza humana, cualquiera que esta sea, se vuelve impuro él mismo. Pero al darse cuenta, será culpable.
4 »Si alguien hace uno de esos juramentos que se acostumbra a hacer a la ligera, y sin saberlo jura hacer bien o mal, ha pecado. Pero al darse cuenta, será culpable de haber hecho ese juramento.
5 »Si alguien resulta culpable de alguna de estas cosas, deberá reconocer que ha pecado 6 y llevarle al Señor en sacrificio para obtener el perdón por la culpa del pecado cometido una hembra del rebaño, que podrá ser una oveja o una cabra. Así el sacerdote obtendrá perdón por ese pecado.
El caso del pobre
7 »Si a alguien no le alcanza para comprar una oveja, entonces llevará al Señor, como sacrificio por la culpa del pecado cometido, dos tórtolas o dos pichones de paloma, una de las aves como sacrificio por el pecado y la otra como holocausto. 8 Se las llevará al sacerdote, quien primero ofrecerá el ave para el sacrificio por el perdón. Para esto, le cortará la cabeza sin desprenderla del todo del cuello. 9 Luego rociará un poco de la sangre del sacrificio por el perdón en un costado del altar, y al pie del altar exprimirá el resto de la sangre. Es un sacrificio para obtener el perdón por el pecado. 10 Con la segunda ave hará un holocausto, como ya ha sido ordenado. Así el sacerdote pedirá perdón por el pecado cometido y ese pecado será perdonado.
11 »Si a esa persona tampoco le alcanza para comprar dos tórtolas o dos pichones de palomas, presentará entonces en sacrificio por el perdón, como ofrenda por el pecado cometido, la décima parte de un efa[a] de harina refinada. Como se trata de un sacrificio por el perdón, no se le pondrá aceite ni incienso. 12 Llevará este sacrificio al sacerdote, quien tomará un puñado de la ofrenda memorial y lo quemará en el altar junto con las ofrendas puestas al fuego ante el Señor. Es un sacrificio para obtener el perdón de pecados. 13 Así el sacerdote pedirá perdón por el pecado cometido en alguna de estas cosas y ese pecado será perdonado. El resto de la ofrenda será para el sacerdote como sucede con la ofrenda de cereal».
El sacrificio por la culpa
14 El Señor dijo a Moisés: 15 «Si alguien comete una falta y peca involuntariamente contra lo que ha sido consagrado al Señor, llevará al Señor un carnero sin defecto como sacrificio por la culpa. Su precio será tasado en siclos de plata, según el peso oficial del santuario.[b] Es un sacrificio por la culpa. 16 Además, el culpable hará restitución por haber pecado contra lo consagrado, añadiendo la quinta parte, la cual entregará al sacerdote. Así el sacerdote pedirá perdón por él mediante el carnero del sacrificio por la culpa, y ese pecado será perdonado.
17 »Si alguien peca involuntariamente e incurre en algo que los mandamientos del Señor prohíben, es culpable y sufrirá las consecuencias de su pecado. 18 Llevará al sacerdote un carnero sin defecto, cuyo precio será fijado como sacrificio por la culpa. Así el sacerdote pedirá perdón por el mal que esa persona cometió involuntariamente, y ese pecado será perdonado. 19 Es un sacrificio por la culpa de la que se hizo acreedor por pecar contra el Señor».

5 And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity.
2 Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether it be a carcase of an unclean beast, or a carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of unclean creeping things, and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty.
3 Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, whatsoever uncleanness it be that a man shall be defiled withal, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty.
4 Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these.
5 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing:
6 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lord for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.
7 And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his trespass, which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the Lord; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.
8 And he shall bring them unto the priest, who shall offer that which is for the sin offering first, and wring off his head from his neck, but shall not divide it asunder:
9 And he shall sprinkle of the blood of the sin offering upon the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be wrung out at the bottom of the altar: it is a sin offering.
10 And he shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the manner: and the priest shall make an atonement for him for his sin which he hath sinned, and it shall be forgiven him.
11 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, then he that sinned shall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering; he shall put no oil upon it, neither shall he put any frankincense thereon: for it is a sin offering.
12 Then shall he bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, even a memorial thereof, and burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the Lord: it is a sin offering.
13 And the priest shall make an atonement for him as touching his sin that he hath sinned in one of these, and it shall be forgiven him: and the remnant shall be the priest's, as a meat offering.
14 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
15 If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the Lord; then he shall bring for his trespass unto the Lord a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with thy estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering.
16 And he shall make amends for the harm that he hath done in the holy thing, and shall add the fifth part thereto, and give it unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and it shall be forgiven him.
17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
18 And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred and wist it not, and it shall be forgiven him.
19 It is a trespass offering: he hath certainly trespassed against the Lord.

Sins Requiring a Sin Offering
5 “If you are called to testify about something you have seen or that you know about, it is sinful to refuse to testify, and you will be punished for your sin.
2 “Or suppose you unknowingly touch something that is ceremonially unclean, such as the carcass of an unclean animal. When you realize what you have done, you must admit your defilement and your guilt. This is true whether it is a wild animal, a domestic animal, or an animal that scurries along the ground.
3 “Or suppose you unknowingly touch something that makes a person unclean. When you realize what you have done, you must admit your guilt.
4 “Or suppose you make a foolish vow of any kind, whether its purpose is for good or for bad. When you realize its foolishness, you must admit your guilt.
5 “When you become aware of your guilt in any of these ways, you must confess your sin. 6 Then you must bring to the Lord as the penalty for your sin a female from the flock, either a sheep or a goat. This is a sin offering with which the priest will purify you from your sin, making you right with the Lord.[a]
7 “But if you cannot afford to bring a sheep, you may bring to the Lord two turtledoves or two young pigeons as the penalty for your sin. One of the birds will be for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering. 8 You must bring them to the priest, who will present the first bird as the sin offering. He will wring its neck but without severing its head from the body. 9 Then he will sprinkle some of the blood of the sin offering against the sides of the altar, and the rest of the blood will be drained out at the base of the altar. This is an offering for sin. 10 The priest will then prepare the second bird as a burnt offering, following all the procedures that have been prescribed. Through this process the priest will purify you from your sin, making you right with the Lord, and you will be forgiven.
11 “If you cannot afford to bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons, you may bring two quarts[b] of choice flour for your sin offering. Since it is an offering for sin, you must not moisten it with olive oil or put any frankincense on it. 12 Take the flour to the priest, who will scoop out a handful as a representative portion. He will burn it on the altar on top of the special gifts presented to the Lord. It is an offering for sin. 13 Through this process, the priest will purify those who are guilty of any of these sins, making them right with the Lord, and they will be forgiven. The rest of the flour will belong to the priest, just as with the grain offering.”
Procedures for the Guilt Offering
14 Then the Lord said to Moses, 15 “If one of you commits a sin by unintentionally defiling the Lord’s sacred property, you must bring a guilt offering to the Lord. The offering must be your own ram with no defects, or you may buy one of equal value with silver, as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel.[c] 16 You must make restitution for the sacred property you have harmed by paying for the loss, plus an additional 20 percent. When you give the payment to the priest, he will purify you with the ram sacrificed as a guilt offering, making you right with the Lord, and you will be forgiven.
17 “Suppose you sin by violating one of the Lord’s commands. Even if you are unaware of what you have done, you are guilty and will be punished for your sin. 18 For a guilt offering, you must bring to the priest your own ram with no defects, or you may buy one of equal value. Through this process the priest will purify you from your unintentional sin, making you right with the Lord, and you will be forgiven. 19 This is a guilt offering, for you have been guilty of an offense against the Lord.”
