La ley de los holocaustos
1 El Señor llamó a Moisés(A) y le habló desde la tienda de reunión: 2 «Di a los israelitas: “Cuando alguien de ustedes traiga una ofrenda al Señor(B), traerán su ofrenda de animales del ganado o del rebaño(C). 3 Si su ofrenda es un holocausto[a] del ganado(D), ofrecerá un macho sin defecto(E); lo ofrecerá a la entrada de la tienda de reunión(F), para que sea aceptado delante del Señor. 4 Pondrá su mano sobre la cabeza del holocausto(G), y le será aceptado para expiación suya(H). 5 Entonces degollará el novillo delante del Señor(I); y los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón ofrecerán la sangre(J) y la rociarán por todos los lados sobre el altar que está a la entrada de la tienda de reunión(K).
6 ”Después desollará el holocausto y lo cortará en pedazos(L). 7 Y los hijos del sacerdote Aarón pondrán fuego en el altar(M), y colocarán leña sobre el fuego. 8 Luego los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón arreglarán los pedazos, la cabeza y el sebo sobre la leña que está en el fuego sobre el altar(N). 9 El que presenta el holocausto lavará las entrañas y las patas con agua(O), y el sacerdote lo quemará todo sobre el altar como holocausto(P). Es una ofrenda encendida de aroma agradable para el Señor(Q).
10 ”Pero si su ofrenda para holocausto es del rebaño, de los corderos o de las cabras, ofrecerá un macho sin defecto(R). 11 Lo degollará al lado norte del altar, delante del Señor; y los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón rociarán la sangre sobre el altar, por todos los lados(S). 12 Después lo cortará en pedazos, con su cabeza y el sebo(T), y el sacerdote los colocará sobre la leña que está en el fuego sobre el altar. 13 Las entrañas y las patas las lavará con agua, y el sacerdote lo ofrecerá todo, quemándolo sobre el altar. Es un holocausto, una ofrenda encendida de aroma agradable para el Señor(U).
14 ”Pero si su ofrenda para el Señor es un holocausto de aves, entonces traerá su ofrenda de tórtolas o de pichones(V). 15 Y el sacerdote la traerá al altar, le quitará la cabeza y la quemará sobre el altar; y su sangre será exprimida sobre el costado del altar(W). 16 Le quitará también el buche con sus plumas y lo echará junto al altar, hacia el oriente, en el lugar de las cenizas(X). 17 La partirá después por las alas, sin dividirla(Y). Entonces el sacerdote la quemará en el altar(Z), sobre la leña que está en el fuego. Es un holocausto, una ofrenda encendida de aroma agradable para el Señor.

1 Dios llamó a Moisés desde el santuario y le ordenó 2 que les diera este mensaje a los israelitas:
«Cuando alguno de ustedes me presente una ofrenda para quemarla en mi honor, podrá ofrecerme terneros, cabritos o corderos.
3 »Si alguien me presenta un ternero como ofrenda, éste deberá ser un macho sin ningún defecto. Lo llevará a la entrada del santuario, 4-5 y allí pondrá su mano sobre la cabeza del ternero, y lo matará. Así, yo recibiré su ofrenda con agrado, y le perdonaré sus pecados.
»Los sacerdotes me presentarán la sangre del ternero, y luego la derramarán en los cuatro costados del altar. 6-9 El que me presente la ofrenda le quitará el cuero y cortará el animal en pedazos. Por último, lavará con agua los intestinos y las patas del animal, y entregará todo a los sacerdotes. Ellos pondrán leña sobre el altar y le prenderán fuego, y allí quemarán los pedazos del ternero, junto con la cabeza, las patas, los intestinos y la grasa. Se trata de una ofrenda de aroma agradable, que se presenta en mi honor.
10 »Si alguien me ofrece un cordero o un cabrito, éste deberá ser también un macho sin ningún defecto. 11 Lo matará sobre un costado del altar, y los sacerdotes derramarán la sangre en los cuatro costados. 12-13 Luego, el que me presente la ofrenda cortará el animal en pedazos. Por último, lavará con agua los intestinos y las patas del animal, y entregará todo a los sacerdotes. Ellos quemarán los pedazos en el altar, junto con la cabeza, las patas, los intestinos y la grasa. Se trata de una ofrenda de aroma agradable, que se presenta en mi honor.
14 »Si alguien me presenta aves como ofrenda, éstas pueden ser palomas o tortolitas. 15 El sacerdote pondrá el ave sobre el altar, y allí le arrancará la cabeza y la quemará, dejando que la sangre corra por los costados del altar. 16 Luego le sacará el buche y los intestinos, y los arrojará en el costado del altar donde se echan las cenizas. 17 Después abrirá en dos el ave, de modo que en cada mitad haya un ala, pero sin separar las dos mitades. Por último, el sacerdote quemará el resto del ave sobre la leña encendida. Se trata de una ofrenda de aroma agradable, que se presenta en mi honor».

1 And the Lord called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the Lord, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
3 If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord.
4 And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.
5 And he shall kill the bullock before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
6 And he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces.
7 And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire:
8 And the priests, Aaron's sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
9 But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
10 And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.
11 And he shall kill it on the side of the altar northward before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar.
12 And he shall cut it into his pieces, with his head and his fat: and the priest shall lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:
13 But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: and the priest shall bring it all, and burn it upon the altar: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.
14 And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the Lord be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.
15 And the priest shall bring it unto the altar, and wring off his head, and burn it on the altar; and the blood thereof shall be wrung out at the side of the altar:
16 And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:
17 And he shall cleave it with the wings thereof, but shall not divide it asunder: and the priest shall burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire: it is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

The Burnt Offering
1 The Lord called to Moses(A) and spoke to him from the tent of meeting.(B) He said, 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When anyone among you brings an offering to the Lord,(C) bring as your offering an animal from either the herd or the flock.(D)
3 “‘If the offering is a burnt offering(E) from the herd,(F) you are to offer a male without defect.(G) You must present it at the entrance to the tent(H) of meeting so that it will be acceptable(I) to the Lord. 4 You are to lay your hand on the head(J) of the burnt offering,(K) and it will be accepted(L) on your behalf to make atonement(M) for you. 5 You are to slaughter(N) the young bull(O) before the Lord, and then Aaron’s sons(P) the priests shall bring the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar(Q) at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 6 You are to skin(R) the burnt offering and cut it into pieces.(S) 7 The sons of Aaron the priest are to put fire on the altar and arrange wood(T) on the fire. 8 Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat,(U) on the wood(V) that is burning on the altar. 9 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water,(W) and the priest is to burn all of it(X) on the altar.(Y) It is a burnt offering,(Z) a food offering,(AA) an aroma pleasing to the Lord.(AB)
10 “‘If the offering is a burnt offering from the flock, from either the sheep(AC) or the goats,(AD) you are to offer a male without defect. 11 You are to slaughter it at the north side of the altar(AE) before the Lord, and Aaron’s sons the priests shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar.(AF) 12 You are to cut it into pieces, and the priest shall arrange them, including the head and the fat,(AG) on the wood that is burning on the altar. 13 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water,(AH) and the priest is to bring all of them and burn them(AI) on the altar.(AJ) It is a burnt offering,(AK) a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
14 “‘If the offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds, you are to offer a dove or a young pigeon.(AL) 15 The priest shall bring it to the altar, wring off the head(AM) and burn it on the altar; its blood shall be drained out on the side of the altar.(AN) 16 He is to remove the crop and the feathers[a] and throw them down east of the altar where the ashes(AO) are. 17 He shall tear it open by the wings, not dividing it completely,(AP) and then the priest shall burn it on the wood(AQ) that is burning on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.
