³³ I will scatter^(A) you among the nations^(B) and will draw out my sword^(C) and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste,^(D) and your cities will lie in ruins.^(E)

¹⁴ ‘I scattered^(A) them with a whirlwind^(B) among all the nations, where they were strangers. The land they left behind them was so desolate that no one traveled through it.^(C) This is how they made the pleasant land desolate.^(D)’”

²³ Also with uplifted hand I swore to them in the wilderness that I would disperse them among the nations and scatter^(A) them through the countries,

⁶⁴ Then the Lord will scatter^(A) you among all nations,^(B) from one end of the earth to the other.^(C) There you will worship other gods—gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your ancestors have known.^{(D) 65} Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place^(E) for the sole of your foot. There the Lord will give you an anxious mind, eyes^(F) weary with longing, and a despairing heart.^{(G) 66} You will live in constant suspense, filled with dread both night and day, never sure of your life.

²⁷ The Lord will scatter^(A) you among the peoples, and only a few of you will survive^(B) among the nations to which the Lord will drive you.
