The Bread of the Tabernacle

⁵ “And you shall take fine flour and bake twelve ^(A)cakes with it. Two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake.

³⁰ And you shall set the ^(A)showbread on the table before Me always.

^23 (A)and he set the bread in order upon it before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

³¹ And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying, ^(A)“Israel shall be your name.”

⁴ And the priest answered David and said, “There is no ^[a]common bread on hand; but there is ^(A)holy^[b] bread, ^(B)if the young men have at least kept themselves from women.”

⁵ Then David answered the priest, and said to him, “Truly, women have been kept from us about three days since I came out. And ^[c]the ^(C)vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in effect common, even though it was consecrated ^(D)in the vessel this day.”
