19 ^1-2God spoke to Moses: “Speak to the congregation of Israel. Tell them, Be holy because I, God, your God, am holy.

Leviticus 19:1-2

New International Version

19 The Lord said to Moses, ²“Speak to the entire assembly of Israel^(A) and say to them: ‘Be holy because I, the Lord your God,^(B) am holy.^(C)

¹⁷“Don’t secretly hate your neighbor. If you have something against him, get it out into the open; otherwise you are an accomplice in his guilt.

¹⁸“Don’t seek revenge or carry a grudge against any of your people.

“Love your neighbor as yourself. I am God.

¹⁷“‘Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart.^(A) Rebuke your neighbor frankly^(B) so you will not share in their guilt.

¹⁸“‘Do not seek revenge^(C) or bear a grudge^(D) against anyone among your people,^(E) but love your neighbor^(F) as yourself.^(G) I am the Lord.
