⁸ Then Aaron’s sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat,^(A) on the wood^(B) that is burning on the altar.

¹³ They handed him the burnt offering piece by piece, including the head, and he burned them on the altar.^{(A) 14} He washed the internal organs and the legs and burned them on top of the burnt offering on the altar.^(B)

³³ He arranged^(A) the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them, “Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood.”

²³ Get two bulls for us. Let Baal’s prophets choose one for themselves, and let them cut it into pieces and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood but not set fire to it.

¹⁸ He then presented the ram^(A) for the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head. ¹⁹ Then Moses slaughtered the ram and splashed the blood against the sides of the altar. ²⁰ He cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces and the fat.^{(B) 21} He washed the internal organs and the legs with water and burned the whole ram on the altar. It was a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.
