25 The Lord is good to those who wait(A) for Him,
to the person who seeks Him.
26 It is good to wait quietly(B)
for deliverance from the Lord.(C)
27 It is good for a man to bear the yoke(D)
while he is still young.

28 Let him sit alone and be silent,(E)
for God has disciplined him.
29 Let him put his mouth in the dust(F)
perhaps there is still hope.
30 Let him offer his cheek
to the one who would strike him;(G)
let him be filled with shame.

And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons:

My son, do not take the Lord’s discipline lightly
or faint when you are reproved by Him,
for the Lord disciplines the one He loves
and punishes every son He receives.(A)[a]

Endure suffering as discipline: God is dealing with you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline—which all[b] receive[c]—then you are illegitimate children and not sons.(B)
