Lamentaciones 1
Nueva Versión Internacional
Álef
[a]1 ¡Cuán solitaria se encuentra
la que fue ciudad populosa!
¡Tiene apariencia de viuda
la que fue grande entre las naciones!
¡Hoy es esclava de las provincias
la que fue gran señora entre ellas!
Bet
2 Amargamente llora por la noche;
corren las lágrimas por sus mejillas.
No hay entre sus amantes
uno solo que la consuele.
Todos sus amigos la traicionaron;
se volvieron sus enemigos.
Guímel
3 En aflicción y con trabajos forzados
Judá marchó al exilio.
Habita entre las naciones
sin encontrar reposo.
Todos sus perseguidores la acosan,
la ponen en aprietos.
Dálet
4 Los caminos a Sión están de duelo;
He
5 Sus enemigos se volvieron sus amos;
tranquilos se ven sus adversarios.
El Señor la ha acongojado
por causa de sus muchos pecados.
Sus hijos marcharon al cautiverio,
arrastrados por sus enemigos.
Vav
6 La hija de Sión ha perdido
todo su esplendor.
Sus príncipes parecen ciervos
que vagan en busca de pastos.
Exhaustos, se dan a la fuga
frente a sus perseguidores.
Zayin
7 Jerusalén trae a la memoria los tristes días de su peregrinaje;
se acuerda de todos los tesoros
que en el pasado fueron suyos.
Cuando su pueblo cayó en manos enemigas
nadie acudió en su ayuda.
Sus enemigos vieron su caída
y se burlaron de ella.
Jet
8 Grave es el pecado de Jerusalén;
Ella misma gime
y no se atreve a dar la cara.
Tet
9 Sus vestidos están llenos de inmundicia;
Su caída fue sorprendente;
no hubo nadie que la consolara.
«¡Mira, Señor, mi aflicción!
¡El enemigo ha triunfado!».
Yod
10 El enemigo se adueñó
de todos sus tesoros.
Ella vio naciones paganas
entrar en su santuario,
a las que tú prohibiste
entrar en tu asamblea.
Caf
11 Todo su pueblo solloza
y anda en busca de pan;
Mem
13 »Desde lo alto él envió un fuego
que penetró en mis huesos.
A mi paso tendió una trampa
y me hizo retroceder.
Me abandonó por completo;
a todas horas me sentía desfallecer.
Nun
14 »Mis pecados fueron atados a un yugo;
Ayin
16 »Todo esto me hace llorar;
mis ojos se inundan de lágrimas.
No tengo cerca a nadie que me consuele;
no tengo a nadie que me reanime.
Mis hijos quedaron abandonados
porque el enemigo salió victorioso».
Pe
17 Sión clama pidiendo ayuda,[d]
pero no hay quien la consuele.
Por decreto del Señor
los vecinos de Jacob son ahora sus enemigos;
Jerusalén ha llegado a ser
inmundicia en medio de ellos.
Tsade
18 «El Señor es justo,
pero yo me rebelé contra su palabra.
Escuchen, todos los pueblos,
y vean mi sufrimiento.
Mis doncellas y mis jóvenes
han marchado al destierro.
Qof
19 »Llamé a mis amantes,
pero ellos me traicionaron.
Mis sacerdotes y mis ancianos
perecieron en la ciudad,
mientras buscaban alimentos
para mantenerse con vida.
Resh
20 »¡Mírame, Señor, que me encuentro angustiada!
¡Siento una profunda agonía![e]
Mi corazón se agita dentro de mí,
pues he sido muy rebelde.
Allá afuera, la espada me deja sin hijos;
Tav
22 »¡Que llegue a tu presencia
toda su maldad!
¡Trátalos como me has tratado a mí
por causa de todos mis pecados!
Son muchos mis quejidos,
y mi corazón desfallece».

Lamentations 1
World English Bible
1 How the city sits solitary,
that was full of people!
She has become as a widow,
who was great among the nations!
She who was a princess among the provinces
has become a slave!
2 She weeps bitterly in the night.
Her tears are on her cheeks.
Among all her lovers
she has no one to comfort her.
All her friends have dealt treacherously with her.
They have become her enemies.
3 Judah has gone into captivity because of affliction
and because of great servitude.
She dwells among the nations.
She finds no rest.
All her persecutors overtook her in her distress.
4 The roads to Zion mourn,
because no one comes to the solemn assembly.
All her gates are desolate.
Her priests sigh.
Her virgins are afflicted,
and she herself is in bitterness.
5 Her adversaries have become the head.
Her enemies prosper;
for Yahweh[a] has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions.
Her young children have gone into captivity before the adversary.
6 All majesty has departed from the daughter of Zion.
Her princes have become like deer that find no pasture.
They have gone without strength before the pursuer.
7 Jerusalem remembers in the days of her affliction and of her miseries
all her pleasant things that were from the days of old;
when her people fell into the hand of the adversary,
and no one helped her.
The adversaries saw her.
They mocked at her desolations.
8 Jerusalem has grievously sinned.
Therefore she has become unclean.
All who honored her despise her,
because they have seen her nakedness.
Yes, she sighs and turns backward.
9 Her filthiness was in her skirts.
She didn’t remember her latter end.
Therefore she has come down astoundingly.
She has no comforter.
“See, Yahweh, my affliction;
for the enemy has magnified himself.”
10 The adversary has spread out his hand on all her pleasant things;
for she has seen that the nations have entered into her sanctuary,
concerning whom you commanded that they should not enter into your assembly.
11 All her people sigh.
They seek bread.
They have given their pleasant things for food to refresh their soul.
“Look, Yahweh, and see,
for I have become despised.”
12 “Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by?
Look, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow,
which is brought on me,
with which Yahweh has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
13 “From on high has he sent fire into my bones,
and it prevails against them.
He has spread a net for my feet.
He has turned me back.
He has made me desolate and I faint all day long.
14 “The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand.
They are knit together.
They have come up on my neck.
He made my strength fail.
The Lord[b] has delivered me into their hands,
against whom I am not able to stand.
15 “The Lord has set at nothing all my mighty men within me.
He has called a solemn assembly against me to crush my young men.
The Lord has trodden the virgin daughter of Judah as in a wine press.
16 “For these things I weep.
My eye, my eye runs down with water,
because the comforter who should refresh my soul is far from me.
My children are desolate,
because the enemy has prevailed.”
17 Zion spreads out her hands.
There is no one to comfort her.
Yahweh has commanded concerning Jacob,
that those who are around him should be his adversaries.
Jerusalem is among them as an unclean thing.
18 “Yahweh is righteous,
for I have rebelled against his commandment.
Please hear all you peoples,
and see my sorrow.
My virgins and my young men have gone into captivity.
19 “I called for my lovers,
but they deceived me.
My priests and my elders gave up the spirit in the city,
while they sought food for themselves to refresh their souls.
20 “Look, Yahweh; for I am in distress.
My heart is troubled.
My heart turns over within me,
for I have grievously rebelled.
Abroad, the sword bereaves.
At home, it is like death.
21 “They have heard that I sigh.
There is no one to comfort me.
All my enemies have heard of my trouble.
They are glad that you have done it.
You will bring the day that you have proclaimed,
and they will be like me.
22 “Let all their wickedness come before you.
Do to them as you have done to me for all my transgressions.
For my sighs are many,
and my heart is faint.

Jerusalems sorg och ödeläggelse
Alef
Beth
2 Bittert gråter hon i natten,
tårar rinner utför hennes kind.
Bland alla hennes älskare
finns ingen som tröstar henne.
Alla hennes vänner har svikit henne,
de har blivit hennes fiender.
Gimel
3 Juda har gått i landsflykt
på grund av förtryck
och svår träldom.
Hon bor nu bland hednafolken,
hon finner ingen ro.
Alla hennes förföljare har överfallit henne
mitt i hennes nöd.
Daleth
4 Vägarna till Sion sörjer,
ty ingen kommer längre till högtiderna.
Alla hennes portar är öde,
hennes präster suckar.
Hennes jungfrur är bedrövade,
och själv sörjer hon bittert.
He
5 Hennes ovänner har makten,
hennes fiender känner sig säkra.
Ty Herren har bedrövat henne
för hennes många synders skull.
Hennes barn har vandrat bort
som fångar framför fienden.
Waw
6 All prakt har försvunnit
från dottern Sion.
Hennes furstar liknar hjortar,
som inte finner bete.
De vandrar kraftlösa
framför förföljaren.
Zajin
7 I sin nöd och hemlöshet
kommer Jerusalem ihåg
allt vad dyrbart hon ägde
i forna dagar.
Jod
10 Ovännen har räckt ut sin hand
efter allt dyrbart hon ägde.
Hon har sett hur hedningar
går in i hennes helgedom,
sådana som du har förbjudit
att komma in i din församling.
Kaf
11 Allt hennes folk suckar
och söker efter bröd.
De ger sina dyrbarheter för mat
för att hålla sig vid liv.
Se, o Herre, och ge akt på
hur föraktad jag har blivit.
Lamed
Mem
13 Från höjden har han sänt en eld
in i mina ben och kuvat dem.
Pe
17 Sion räcker ut sina händer,
men ingen finns som tröstar henne.
Mot Jakob har Herren bådat upp
hans ovänner från alla håll,
Jerusalem har blivit
som något orent ibland dem.
Tsade
18 Herren är rättfärdig,
men jag var upprorisk mot hans bud.
Hör då, alla ni folk,
och se min plåga!
Mina jungfrur och unga män
har gått i fångenskap.
Qof
19 Jag kallade på mina älskare,
men de svek mig.
Mina präster och mina äldste
omkom i staden,
medan de letade efter mat
för att hålla sig vid liv.
Resh
20 Se, Herre, hur jag är i nöd!
Det jäser i mitt innersta,
mitt hjärta vänder sig i mitt bröst,
ty jag har varit mycket upprorisk.
Ute gör svärdet mig barnlös,
inomhus finns endast död.
Shin
Taw
22 Låt all deras ondska komma inför ditt ansikte
och gör med dem
så som du har gjort med mig
för alla mina synder.
Ty många är mina suckar,
och mitt hjärta är sjukt.
