Has Your soul loathed Zion?
Why have You stricken us so that ^(B)there is no healing for us?
^(C)We looked for peace, but there was no good;
And for the time of healing, and there was trouble.
²⁰ We acknowledge, O Lord, our wickedness
And the iniquity of our ^(D)fathers,
For ^(E)we have sinned against You.
²¹ Do not abhor us, for Your name’s sake;
Do not disgrace the throne of Your glory.
^(F)Remember, do not break Your covenant with us.

⁹ Do not be furious, O Lord,
Nor remember iniquity forever;
Indeed, please look—we all are Your people!
¹⁰ Your holy cities are a wilderness,
Zion is a wilderness,
Jerusalem a desolation.
¹¹ Our holy and beautiful ^[a]temple,
Where our fathers praised You,
Is burned up with fire;
And all ^(A)our pleasant things ^[b]are laid waste.
^12 (B)Will You restrain Yourself because of these things, O Lord?
^(C)Will You ^[c]hold Your peace, and afflict us very severely?

³ Lord, ^(A)how long will the wicked,
How long will the wicked triumph?

^5 (A)Will You be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?
