²² The Lord ^(A)redeems the life of his servants;
    none of those who take refuge in him will be ^(B)condemned.

35 Contend, O Lord, with those who ^(C)contend with me;
    ^(D)fight against those who fight against me!

³⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord:
“Behold, ^(A)I will plead your cause
    and take vengeance for you.
^(B)I will dry up her sea
    and ^(C)make her fountain dry,

⁴ who ^(A)redeems your life from the pit,
    who ^(B)crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

²³ My lips will shout for joy,
    when I sing praises to you;
    my soul also, which you have ^(A)redeemed.

^16 (A)the angel who has ^(B)redeemed me from all evil, bless the boys;
    and in them let ^(C)my name be carried on, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac;
    and let them ^(D)grow into a multitude^[a] in the midst of the earth.”
