Kehillah in Thessalonika I 1
Orthodox Jewish Bible
1 From Sha’ul and Silvanus (Sila) and Timotiyos. To the kehillah of the inhabitants of the city of Thessalonika, the kehillah in Hashem, in Elohim HaAv and in Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach Adoneinu Yehoshua. Chen v’Chesed Hashem and Shalom Hashem to you.
2 Hodinu l’Hashem (We give thanks to Hashem) always for all of you, with zikaron (remembrance) during our davening, without ceasing
3 In our tefillos recalling before our G-d and Avinu your work of emunah, your labor of ahavah (agape), and your perseverance of tikvah in Moshiach Adoneinu Yeshoshua,
4 Knowing, Achim b’Moshiach ahuvei Hashem (Brothers in Moshiach beloved of G-d), your bechirah (election).
5 For our Besuras HaGeulah did not come to you in mere locution but indeed in gevurah (miraculous power) and in the Ruach HaKodesh and in full bitachon (confidence), just as you have da’as what sort of men we were among you for your sake.
6 And you became imitators of us and of Adoneinu, having received the Dvar Hashem (the Word of the L-rd) in much redifah (persecution) with the simcha of the Ruach HaKodesh,
7 With the result that you became a mofet (portent), even a role model for all the ma’aminim (believers) in the territory of Macedonia [T.N. a Roman province in northern Greece] and in Achaia [T.N. a Roman province of southern Greece].
8 For from you the Dvar Hashem has resounded not only in Macedonia and in Achaia, but also in every place to which your emunah in Hashem has gone forth, with the result that we have no need to say anything.
9 For they themselves (the ma’aminim b’Moshiach in Macedonia and Achaia) are reporting about us, what sort of initial reception we had with you, and how you made teshuva, turning to Hashem from elilim (idols), from avodah zarah (idol worship), turning to worship the Elohim Chayyim and Elohei Emes (the Living G-d and the True G-d),
10 And to expect [Moshiach] Ben Elohim from Shomayim whom Hashem made to stand up in the Techiyas HaMoshiach from the Mesim Yehoshua Moshieynu (our Deliverer) from the Charon Af HaBah (the wrath to come).

2 Vi er meget taknemmelige til Gud for alt, hvad han har gjort for jer alle sammen, og vi beder til stadighed for jer. 3 Når vi nævner jer ind for Gud, vores Far, tænker vi på jeres arbejde for troens sag, jeres utrættelige kærlighed og jeres udholdenhed i forventningen om det, Jesus Kristus, vores Herre, vil give jer. 4 Vi ved, kære venner, at det er Gud, der i sin kærlighed har udvalgt jer, 5 for han bekræftede vores budskab med Helligåndens manifestationer og mirakler, så det ikke var vores ord alene, der gav jer den stærke overbevisning. I fulgte det eksempel, som vi og Herren viste jer. 7 Derved er I blevet et forbillede for alle de kristne i Makedonien og Akaja. 8 Fra jer er Herrens ord nået vidt omkring, langt ud over Makedoniens og Akajas grænser. Hvor vi end kommer, træffer vi folk, der fortæller os om jeres tro på Gud. Vi behøver ikke engang selv at sige noget om det, 9 for andre fortæller om, hvad der skete, da vi kom til jer, og hvordan I brød med afguderne og vendte jer til den levende og sande Gud for at tjene ham. 10 Og de fortæller om, hvordan I med stor forventning ser frem til, at Guds Søn, Jesus, som blev oprejst fra de døde, skal vende tilbage fra Himlen og frelse os fra den kommende dom.

1 PABLO, y Silvano, y Timoteo, á la iglesia de los Tesalonicenses que es en Dios Padre y en el Señor Jesucristo: Gracia y paz á vosotros de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.
2 Damos siempre gracias á Dios por todos vosotros, haciendo memoria de vosotros en nuestras oraciones;
3 Sin cesar acordándonos delante del Dios y Padre nuestro de la obra de vuestra fe, y del trabajo de amor, y de la tolerancia de la esperanza del Señor nuestro Jesucristo:
4 Sabiendo, hermanos amados de Dios, vuestra elección:
5 Por cuanto nuestro evangelio no fué á vosotros en palabra solamente, mas también en potencia, y en Espíritu Santo, y en gran plenitud; como sabéis cuáles fuimos entre vosotros por amor de vosotros.
6 Y vosotros fuisteis hechos imitadores de nosotros, y del Señor, recibiendo la palabra con mucha tribulación, con gozo del Espíritu Santo:
7 En tal manera que habéis sido ejemplo á todos los que han creído en Macedonia y en Acaya.
8 Porque de vosotros ha sido divulgada la palabra del Señor no sólo en Macedonia y en Acaya, mas aun en todo lugar vuestra fe en Dios se ha extendido; de modo que no tenemos necesidad de hablar nada.
9 Porque ellos cuentan de nosotros cuál entrada tuvimos á vosotros; y cómo os convertisteis de los ídolos á Dios, para servir al Dios vivo y verdadero.
10 Y esperar á su Hijo de los cielos, al cual resucitó de los muertos; á Jesús, el cual nos libró de la ira que ha de venir.
