6 So (A)we urged Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also complete this grace in you as well. 7 But as (B)you abound in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us—see (C)that you abound in this grace also.

6 Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.
7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.

6 So we urged(A) Titus,(B) just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion(C) this act of grace on your part. 7 But since you excel in everything(D)—in faith, in speech, in knowledge,(E) in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you[a]—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
8 I am not commanding you,(F) but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others.
