48 él y todos sus hombres subieron al monte Zalmón. Tomó un hacha, cortó algunas ramas y se las puso sobre los hombros. A los hombres que estaban con él les ordenó: «¡Rápido! ¡Hagan lo mismo que me han visto hacer!». 49 Todos los hombres cortaron ramas y siguieron a Abimélec hasta la fortaleza, donde amontonaron las ramas y les prendieron fuego. Así murió toda la gente que estaba dentro de la torre de Siquén, que eran como mil hombres y mujeres.
50 Después Abimélec fue a Tebes, la sitió y la capturó.

48 فَصَعِدَ أبِيمَالِكُ إلَى جَبَلِ صَلْمُونَ،[a] هُوَ وَجَمَاعَتُهُ الَّذِينَ مَعْهُ. وَأخَذَ أبِيمَالِكُ فُؤُوسًا مَعَهُ، وَقَطَعَ حُزْمَةً مِنَ الخَشَبِ، وَرَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَهَا عَلَى كَتِفِهِ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِجَمَاعَتِهِ الَّذِينَ مَعَهُ: «افْعَلُوا بِسُرْعَةٍ مَا رَأيْتُمُونِي أفْعَلُهُ!» 49 فَقَطَعَ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ جَمَاعَتِهِ حُزْمَةً مِنَ الخَشَبِ، وَتَبِعُوا أبِيمَالِكَ، وَوَضَعُوا الخَشَبَ عَلَى قَلْعَةِ الهَيْكَلِ، وَأحرَقُوا القَلْعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ فِيهَا بِالنَّارِ. وَمَاتَ أيْضًا كُلُّ سُكَّانِ بُرجِ شَكِيمَ، وَكَانُوا نَحْوَ ألْفِ رَجُلٍ وَامْرَأةٍ.
مَوْتُ أبِيمَالِك
50 ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ أبِيمَالِكُ إلَى تَابَاصَ، وَحَاصَرَهَا وَاسْتَوْلَى عَلَيْهَا.

New International Version
48 he and all his men went up Mount Zalmon.(A) He took an ax and cut off some branches, which he lifted to his shoulders. He ordered the men with him, “Quick! Do what you have seen me do!” 49 So all the men cut branches and followed Abimelek. They piled them against the stronghold and set it on fire with the people still inside. So all the people in the tower of Shechem, about a thousand men and women, also died.
50 Next Abimelek went to Thebez(B) and besieged it and captured it.
