La canción de Débora
5 Aquel día Débora y Barac, hijo de Abinoán, entonaron este canto:
2 «Cuando los príncipes de Israel toman el mando,
cuando el pueblo se ofrece voluntariamente,
¡bendito sea el Señor!
3 »¡Oigan, reyes! ¡Escuchen, gobernantes!
Yo cantaré, cantaré al Señor;
tocaré música al Señor, el Dios de Israel.
4 »Oh Señor, cuando saliste de Seír,
cuando marchaste desde los campos de Edom,
tembló la tierra, fluyeron los cielos,
las nubes derramaron agua.
5 Temblaron las montañas al ver al Señor, el Dios del Sinaí;
al ver al Señor, el Dios de Israel.
6 »En los días de Samgar, hijo de Anat,
en los días de Jael, los viajeros abandonaron los caminos
y se fueron por sendas torcidas.
7 Los campesinos de Israel desaparecieron;
desaparecieron hasta que yo me levanté.
¡Yo, Débora, me levanté como una madre en Israel!

Isacar estaba con Barac,
y tras él se lanzó hasta el valle.

hay grandes resoluciones.
16 ¿Por qué permaneciste entre los corrales
escuchando los silbidos para llamar a los rebaños?
En los distritos de Rubén
hay grandes titubeos.
17 Galaad habitó más allá del Jordán.
Y Dan, ¿por qué se quedó junto a los barcos?
Aser se quedó en la costa del mar;
permaneció en sus ensenadas.
18 El pueblo de Zabulón arriesgó la vida,
como hizo Neftalí en las alturas del campo.
19 »Los reyes llegaron y pelearon;
entonces los reyes de Canaán lucharon en Tanac,
junto a las aguas de Meguido,
pero no se llevaron botín de plata.
20 Desde los cielos lucharon las estrellas,
desde sus senderos lucharon contra Sísara.
21 El torrente Quisón los arrastró;
el torrente antiguo, el torrente Quisón.
¡Marcha, alma mía, con vigor!
22 Resonaron entonces los cascos equinos;
¡galopan, galopan sus briosos corceles!
23 “Maldice a Meroz —dijo el ángel del Señor—.
Maldice a sus habitantes con dureza,
porque no vinieron en ayuda del Señor,
en ayuda del Señor y de sus valientes”.
24 »¡Sea Jael, esposa de Héber el quenita,
la más bendita entre las mujeres,
la más bendita entre las mujeres que habitan en tiendas de campaña!
25 Sísara pidió agua, Jael le dio leche;
en taza de nobles le ofreció natas.
26 Su mano izquierda tomó la estaca;
su mano derecha, el mazo de trabajo.
Golpeó a Sísara, le machacó la cabeza
y lo remató atravesándole las sienes.
27 A los pies de ella se desplomó;
allí cayó y quedó tendido.
Cayó desplomado a sus pies;
allí donde cayó, quedó muerto.
28 »Por la ventana se asoma la madre de Sísara;
tras la celosía clama a gritos:
“¿Por qué se demora su carro en venir?
¿Por qué se atrasa el estruendo de sus carros?”.
29 Las más sabias de sus damas le responden,
y ella se repite a sí misma:
30 “Seguramente se están repartiendo el botín arrebatado al enemigo:
una muchacha o dos para cada guerrero;
telas de colores como botín para Sísara;
una tela, dos telas, de colores bordadas para mi cuello.
¡Todo esto como botín!”.
31 »¡Así perezcan todos tus enemigos, oh Señor!
Pero los que te aman sean como el sol
cuando sale en todo su esplendor».
Entonces el país tuvo paz durante cuarenta años.

5 Trong ngày đó [a] Đê-bô-ra và Ba-rác, con A-bi-nô-am, hát bài ca nầy:
2 “Các lãnh tụ hướng dẫn dân Ít-ra-en.
Dân chúng tình nguyện ra trận [b].
Đáng chúc tụng Thượng Đế!
3 Hỡi các vua, hãy lắng tai.
Hỡi các quan quyền, hãy để ý!
Chính tôi sẽ hát cho CHÚA.
Tôi sẽ ca hát cho CHÚA là Thượng Đế của Ít-ra-en.
4 Lạy CHÚA, khi Ngài từ Ê-đôm đến,
khi Ngài bước ra từ đất Ê-đôm,
đất liền rung chuyển, trời đổ mưa,
các đám mây nhỏ giọt nước.
5 Các núi rung chuyển trước mặt CHÚA,
là Thượng Đế của núi Si-nai,
trước mặt CHÚA, Thượng Đế của Ít-ra-en!
6 Trong thời kỳ Sam-ga, con A-nát [c],
trong thời kỳ Gia-ên,
các con đường chính vắng người.
Khách lữ hành đi con đường phụ.
7 Không có dũng sĩ nào trong Ít-ra-en
cả cho đến khi ta, Đê-bô-ra, chỗi dậy,
cho đến khi ta nổi lên làm mẹ của Ít-ra-en [d].
8 Lúc đó họ đi theo các thần mới.
Vì thế các kẻ thù đánh nhau với chúng ta tại cửa thành chúng ta.
Không ai tìm được một cái thuẫn hay một cây giáo,
dù có đến bốn mươi ngàn người Ít-ra-en.

Họ vui lòng tình nguyện từ trong dân chúng.

10 Nầy các người cỡi lừa
và ngồi trên yên bằng mền [e],
các ngươi là những kẻ đang đi trên đường,
hãy lắng nghe đây!
11 Hãy lắng nghe tiếng kẻ ca hát nơi giếng nước.
Họ thuật lại những chiến thắng của CHÚA,
Những chiến thắng của các chiến sĩ của CHÚA trong Ít-ra-en.
Dân CHÚA đi xuống cổng thành.
12 Hỡi Đê-bô-ra, hãy thức dậy, thức dậy!
Hãy thức dậy, thức dậy, hát một bài.
Hỡi Ba-rác, hãy đứng lên!
Hãy đi bắt quân thù ngươi, hỡi con của A-bi-nô-am!
13 Rồi những kẻ bị bỏ lại
sẽ đi đến cùng các bậc lãnh tụ quan trọng.
Các dân CHÚA sẽ đi đến cùng ta với các dũng sĩ.
14 Họ từ Ép-ra-im trong vùng núi của dân A-ma-léc [f] đến.
Bên-gia-min ở trong đám những kẻ đi theo ngươi.
Các viên chỉ huy từ gia đình Ma-kia [g] đến.
Và những vị lãnh tụ từ Xê-bu-lôn mà ra.
15 Các quan trưởng Y-xa-ca đi cùng với Đê-bô-ra.
Dân chúng Y-xa-ca trung thành với Ba-rác,
và đi theo người cho đến thung lũng.
Người Ru-bên suy nghĩ rất lâu về điều họ phải làm.
16 Tại sao các ngươi ở lại chuồng chiên?
Có phải để nghe nhạc đánh cho chiên của các ngươi không?
Người Ru-bên suy nghĩ rất lâu về điều họ phải làm.
17 Dân Ghi-lê-át [h] ở về phía Đông sông Giô-đanh.
Hỡi dân Đan, sao các ngươi ở gần tàu bè?
Dân A-se ở gần bờ biển,
nơi các hải cảng an toàn.
18 Nhưng dân Xê-bu-lôn liều mạng,
cũng như dân Nép-ta-li trên chiến trường.
19 Các vua đến đánh nhau.
Lúc đó các vua Ca-na-an đánh nhau ở Ta-nát, gần nước Mê-ghi-đô.
Nhưng chúng không cướp được vàng hay tài sản của Ít-ra-en.
20 Các ngôi sao chiến đấu từ trên trời;
từ các lối đi của chúng,
chúng đánh Xi-xê-ra.
21 Sông Ki-sôn cuốn trôi những binh sĩ của Xi-xê-ra,
sông xưa đó, tức sông Ki-sôn.
Linh hồn ta ơi, hãy tiến lên lấy sức mạnh [i]!
22 Lúc bấy giờ tiếng vó ngựa rầm rập trên đất.
Những con ngựa oai hùng của Xi-xê-ra phi nhanh, phi nhanh.
23 Thiên sứ của CHÚA bảo,
‘Nguyền cho thành Mê-rốt bị nguyền rủa.
Hãy nguyền rủa cay độc dân cư nó,
vì chúng không đến giúp CHÚA.
Chúng không đánh lại kẻ thù hùng mạnh.’
24 Nguyền Gia-ên, vợ Hê-be người Kê-nít,
được phước hơn tất cả các đàn bà sống trong lều.
25 Xi-xê-ra xin nước,
nhưng Gia-ên cho hắn uống sữa.
Đựng trong chén cho xứng với quan quyền,
nàng đem sữa cho hắn.
26 Gia-ên với tay lấy cây cọc lều.
Tay phải nàng với lấy cái búa của người thợ.
Nàng đập Xi-xê-ra!
Nàng bửa đầu hắn ra!
Nàng bửa và xoi lủng đầu hắn!
27 Hắn ngã quỵ nơi chân Gia-ên.
Hắn ngã quỵ và nằm dài ra đó.
Hắn quỵ ngã nơi chân nàng.
Hắn té xuống.
Nơi Xi-xê-ra quỵ ngã, hắn té xuống tắt hơi!
28 Mẹ Xi-xê-ra trông qua cửa sổ,
nhìn qua bức màn và hỏi lớn,
‘Tại sao xe con đến chậm vậy?
Tại sao tiếng ngựa kéo xe Xi-xê-ra bị chậm trễ?’
29 Đứa tớ gái khôn ngoan nhất của bà trả lời,
và mẹ Xi-xê-ra nhủ thầm,
30 ‘Chắc hẳn họ đang cướp lột dân mà họ chiến thắng!
Chắc hẳn họ đang chia nhau các của cướp!
Mỗi binh sĩ được chia cho một hoặc hai thiếu nữ.
Chắc Xi-xê-ra đang lấy các miếng vải nhuộm cho mình.
Chắc họ đang lấy mấy miếng vải nhuộm,
vải thêu choàng vào cổ các binh sĩ chiến thắng!’
31 Lạy CHÚA xin hãy khiến các kẻ thù Ngài chết kiểu đó!
Nhưng xin cho những ai yêu mến Ngài mạnh mẽ như mặt trời mọc!”
Rồi xứ được hưởng thái bình trong bốn mươi năm.

5 Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam (A)sang on that day, saying:
2 “When[a] leaders (B)lead in Israel,
(C)When the people [b]willingly offer themselves,
Bless the Lord!
3 “Hear,(D) O kings! Give ear, O princes!
I, even (E)I, will sing to the Lord;
I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel.
4 “Lord, (F)when You went out from Seir,
When You marched from (G)the field of Edom,
The earth trembled and the heavens poured,
The clouds also poured water;
5 (H)The mountains [c]gushed before the Lord,
(I)This Sinai, before the Lord God of Israel.
6 “In the days of (J)Shamgar, son of Anath,
In the days of (K)Jael,
(L)The highways were deserted,
And the travelers walked along the byways.
7 Village life ceased, it ceased in Israel,
Until I, Deborah, arose,
Arose a mother in Israel.
8 They chose (M)new gods;
Then there was war in the gates;
Not a shield or spear was seen among forty thousand in Israel.
9 My heart is with the rulers of Israel
Who offered themselves willingly with the people.

10 “Speak, you who ride on white (N)donkeys,
Who sit in judges’ attire,
And who walk along the road.
11 Far from the noise of the archers, among the watering places,
There they shall recount the righteous acts of the Lord,
The righteous acts for His villagers in Israel;
Then the people of the Lord shall go down to the gates.
12 “Awake,(O) awake, Deborah!
Awake, awake, sing a song!
Arise, Barak, and lead your captives away,
O son of Abinoam!
13 “Then the survivors came down, the people against the nobles;
The Lord came down for me against the mighty.
14 From Ephraim were those whose roots were in (P)Amalek.
After you, Benjamin, with your peoples,
From Machir rulers came down,
And from Zebulun those who bear the recruiter’s staff.
15 And [d]the princes of Issachar were with Deborah;
As Issachar, so was Barak
Sent into the valley [e]under his command;
Among the divisions of Reuben
There were great resolves of heart.
16 Why did you sit among the sheepfolds,
To hear the pipings for the flocks?
The divisions of Reuben have great searchings of heart.
17 (Q)Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan,
And why did Dan remain [f]on ships?
(R)Asher continued at the seashore,
And stayed by his inlets.
18 (S)Zebulun is a people who jeopardized their lives to the point of death,
Naphtali also, on the heights of the battlefield.
19 “The kings came and fought,
Then the kings of Canaan fought
In (T)Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo;
They took no spoils of silver.
20 They fought from the heavens;
The stars from their courses fought against Sisera.
21 (U)The torrent of Kishon swept them away,
That ancient torrent, the torrent of Kishon.
O my soul, march on in strength!
22 Then the horses’ hooves pounded,
The galloping, galloping of his steeds.
23 ‘Curse Meroz,’ said the [g]angel of the Lord,
‘Curse its inhabitants bitterly,
Because they did not come to the help of the Lord,
To the help of the Lord against the mighty.’
24 “Most blessed among women is Jael,
The wife of Heber the Kenite;
(V)Blessed is she among women in tents.
25 He asked for water, she gave milk;
She brought out cream in a lordly bowl.
26 She stretched her hand to the tent peg,
Her right hand to the workmen’s hammer;
She pounded Sisera, she pierced his head,
She split and struck through his temple.
27 At her feet he sank, he fell, he lay still;
At her feet he sank, he fell;
Where he sank, there he fell (W)dead.
28 “The mother of Sisera looked through the window,
And cried out through the lattice,
‘Why is his chariot so long in coming?
Why tarries the clatter of his chariots?’
29 Her wisest [h]ladies answered her,
Yes, she [i]answered herself,
30 ‘Are they not finding and dividing the spoil:
To every man a girl or two;
For Sisera, plunder of dyed garments,
Plunder of garments embroidered and dyed,
Two pieces of dyed embroidery for the neck of the looter?’
31 “Thus let all Your enemies (X)perish, O Lord!
But let those who love Him be (Y)like the (Z)sun
When it comes out in full (AA)strength.”
So the land had rest for forty years.
